Former Vice President Joe Biden said he believes he can win several traditionally red states in 2020 if hes the Democratic nominee.
During an appearance at the Poor Peoples Campaign presidential forum Monday in Washington D.C., Biden rattled off the names of five states that he believes he can flip from President Donald Trumps column next November.
I plan on campaigning in the South, Biden said. I plan on if Im your nominee winning Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, believe it or not.
But, Biden wasnt done.
And I believe we can win Texas and Florida, if you look at the polling data now, he said.

Yes, people here can laugh and poo-pooh all they want but Biden is correct about the trends. These red states are gradually turning blue. Demographics are not in our favor. Trump winning a handful of key battleground states by the slimmest of margins after Obama voters stayed home notwithstanding, there are no blue states gradually tuning red.
Eventually Texas will fall and with it the ability for the Republican Party as we know it today to ever again hold the White House.
The migration is from people from the noth east who moved to Florida, then half way back up the coast. We call them half backs.
In his own mind, he's already won.
Re: North Carolina non-Hispanic whites 53.5%
“Census Quick Facts” says 63.1%.
As far as I know, that is a 2018 estimate, but they have changed the notation on that page, so I am not absolutely certain.
South Carolina, where I also lived for many years, is 63.8%.
The huge and relatively sudden electoral difference between those two states is very depressing.
