Democrats worry as Trump unleashes money on 2020 digital ads

While Democrats wage a wide-open primary, President Donald Trump is blanketing battleground states with online advertising that could help set the narrative heading into the 2020 campaign.

The blitz of ads run recently in states including Michigan, Florida, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania alarms some Democrats. They're worried by the more than $10 million Trump and his allies have already spent on digital advertising - a drop compared to the $1 billion his campaign alone could spend by Election Day.

For now, the ads are going largely unanswered as Democrats focus on their primary that's just getting into full swing. But Trump's early head start combined with his massive fundraising operation has stirred concern that it could be difficult for the eventual nominee to catch up.

"The real concern here is that Trump is able to have unchallenged positions when it comes to issues that a lot of voters care about," said Tara McGowan, the founder and CEO of ACRONYM, a progressive group that specializes in digital campaigns. "We are going to see outside (Democratic) groups start to spend with offensive and defensive messages, but I worry that it's still not going to be enough to compete with the infrastructure the right has."

So when the evil Russians did fake news pieces via Facebook in 2016 (spending only a million dollars) to get public reaction...the Trump team is now duplicating that strategy, and pouring millions into it?

Money spent on securing video of Los Angeles , San Francisco and Seattle will be money well spent. Also using snippets from the movie Unplanned and using that video as part of your ads could be very compelling especially with millennials. Going after the corruption of Nancy Pelosi and other members of Congress would go along way.

The Brown Shirt Media is ignoring #FusionCollusion as hard as it can. Trump really should pick one of the coup conspirators (Ohr, Rybicki, pick one) and start a series of nationwide ads that 60 seconds at a time just relentlessly exposes lone detail after the next of their perfidy. Just focus on one, isolate, demonize, destroy, ALA Alinsky. Just pick one and blast them totally out of the water with relentless ads until Barr can no longer ignore the howl of rage.

Can he release a snippet of the Congressional grilling of Brett Kavanaugh - particularly the part where one of the Democrats asks Brett when he lost his virginity?
