NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. Continuing his outreach to African American voters, Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg acknowledged Sunday that he needs to do more work to connect with the community, particularly in the early-voting state of South Carolina.
"It shows we've got a lot of work to do," Buttigieg said after a town hall with 600 mostly white voters in North Charleston, where nearly half the population is black.
Buttigieg is planning to do just that during his two-day swing in South Carolina, the first state where black votes play a major role in the presidential primaries. On Monday, he's holding a meet and greet in Orangeburg before sitting down with community leaders in Columbia.

No doubt he’ll bend over in his efforts. To win votes that is.
By “work needed,” he means implants.
The black vote won’t go for a homo.
Buttigieg acknowledges work needed to appeal to black voters
The laugher is that we’re even talking about Buttgag. He’s getting 2% of the vote nationally, among Democrats, 12% of whom are LGBTQ (mostly bi — only 2% of Americans or 5% of Dems are L, G, or T). That’s according to Harvard/Harris. Older CNN and Morning Consult polls have him at 7%.
Yeah, I’ve heard that acceptance of homosexuality is really more of a white folk (and fag hag) thing.
Blacks are less likely to vote for a queer than whites.
Liberal guilt doesn’t seem to work on them as well.
He put what where?
I figured shoe-polish and a Hillary drawl...
Yeah, he down for he snuggle alright.
They voted for Barack Obama.
He needs to kiss Rev Als butt some more
O wasn’t “out”
Has anyone ever visited South Bend, Indiana?
Without the nearby University of Notre Dame, the city has nothing to brag about. The Studebaker auto factory closed its doors in the 1960s and South Bend has yet to recover.
Real estate prices and rental properties are inexpensive because few people want to live in such a blighted and depressed area.
So now, the Democrats want to nominate a presidential candidate from South Bend? It is almost as stupid as nominating a failed community organizer (you ought to see the slums that he claimed to advocate for) for president.
Oh, wait... the Democrats already did nominate a failed community organizer.
MN newspaper covering SC news. Doubt he got much coverage in SC
And if not for the University of Notre Dame's students and faculty, Buttcrack would have never been elected mayor.
The wrong Notre Dame burned.
