Tom Davis, former Congressman and Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, will discuss effective campaign strategies, tactics, and techniques for use in Northern Virginia at the April meeting of the Fairfax County Republican Committee.
Former Congressman Davis is a proven political winner in Northern Virginia. Starting with a Mason District Supervisor win in 1979, Mr. Davis scored a remarkable 11 straight electoral victories in Fairfax County and other counties of the 11th Congressional District.
In 1991 Mr. Davis defeated the incumbent Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and implemented a number of reforms that resulted in Fairfax being named the best managed county in the country by Governing Magazine.
In 1994 Mr. Davis won a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives from the 11th Congressional District of Virginia. He was the first freshman in 50 years to be given a subcommittee chairmanship, taking the gavel of the Subcommittee on the District of Columbia.
Throughout his tenure in Congress, Mr. Davis was widely recognized as a skilled legislator, an honest broker, and a political mastermind. Through his leadership, the National Capital Revitalization and Self-Government Improvement Act of 1997 closed Lorton Prison, a longstanding but previously unachievable goal for the citizens of Fairfax County.
As Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2000 and 2002, Congressman Davis helped Republicans gain seats in the House of Representatives during the 2002 mid-term electiona feat accomplished by the political party of the President only two other times in history.
After the 2002 election, he was named Chairman of the House Committee on Government Reform, chairing hearings on use of performance enhancing substances in professional sports and heading the investigation of Hurricane Katrina.
Mr. Davis teaches classes on Virginia Politics and Campaigns and Elections at George Mason University, is the author of a recently released book that he co-wrote with former Democratic Congressman Martin Frost about polarization in the U.S. Congress, and often appears on Network TV political shows to discuss the current political landscape.
Local and state Democrats have veered dangerously away from the political, economic, and cultural norms of mainstream Virginians. Republicans canand muststart winning again in Fairfax County. Former Congressman will tell us how to go about doing that. Dont miss this one!
I am getting much more involved in local politics with both my time and money. I ask you to do the same.

Most people don't vote in the local school board elections.
School boards exist to represent the taxpayers and its members should NEVER be educators.
Most people don't know this.
We will take back the schools, and eventually our country, when we take back the school boards.
It can happen quickly ... within a few years.
GOPE stooge TOm Davis discussing strategy? Effort is doomed from the start
