Trump got no bounce from Mueller. That leaves him a narrow path to re-election.
NBC News ^ | April 4, 2019 | Steve Kornacki

For President Donald Trump, it may prove to be the bounce that never comes.

On the afternoon of March 24, the news broke that special counsel Robert Mueller had found no collusion between Trump's campaign and the Russians — a moment for which the president and his allies had been waiting almost two years. But a week later, Trump's average approval rating, according to the Real Clear Politics tracker, had climbed a grand total of one-tenth of one percentage point — to 43.2 percent from 43.1 percent.

You could argue, of course, that Americans are reserving judgment.

The complete Mueller report has yet to be made public, and the summary from Attorney General William Barr did note that Trump had not been exonerated on the issue of obstruction of justice.

Plus, The New York Times reported Wednesday night that some Mueller team members may be dissatisfied with Barr's characterization of the report, and NBC News published a story on Thursday reporting that some members of Mueller's team believe "the evidence that Trump sought to impede the investigation is stronger than Barr suggested."

“.....Not to sound like a concern troll.......”

Too late.

Unemployment stays low. Illegal Immigration measures are improved. Business keeps humming along. Dimms run an absolute loon.

Trump wins bigger than last time.

Trump does not take Virginia - it won't even be close. Virginia is gone. Trump lost by 250,000 votes in Virginia. Fairfax County where 1 out of every 8 votes originates is now 35 to 40% foreign born and that was two years ago and I'm sure that number is even higher now. Northern Virginia is where 1 out every 4 votes originates has gone even more dem recently.

Virginia was not mentioned by the Trump campaign manager (I forget his name) as a pick up possibility. No campaigning in Virginia for 2020.

Hillary was clearly corrupt, clearly had poor policy ideas, was clearly suffering from some kind of health issue, and is generally an unlikable person, yet more people voted for her.

If people voted logically we wouldn’t be having this conversation to begin with. If Trump had some wiggle room I’d feel a whole lot better, but we’re going off razor-thin margins of victory in a number of key states.

Trump will easily take all of the 3 rust belt States. Ariz will remain Red. NH will go Red because of the tougher voting laws put into place. Va. will turn Red as well due the corruption of the Democrats in that State. Trump is far better shape as the incumbent then he was in 2016.

Why would he get a bounce? Those who hate him believe the Russia Hoax no matter what Mueller found.

We almost won VA in 2016, and would have had we not given up on it. The Democrat Party is total disarray in Va.

Agreed. All the thoughtful and seemingly unbiased stories I have read seem to believe Trump wins in 2020, losing the popular vote again, but winning the electoral college. That does seem like a reasonable outcome considering the massive millions in the vote margin just in NY and CA.

Perhaps that's the best we can hope for, but disappointing since the libs will once again call the election illegitimate and further demands to abolish the electoral college.

Trump would have had won that State had they not given up on it! With the Democrat Party there in complete disarray, it can be picked up.

NBC pumping out more Fake News!!! CNN works very hard at it!!!

Tucker Carlson was pretty critical of DJT last night on his show.

What if Trump doesn't want to be re-elected?

We will win those States with more votes this time. And I don’t see any Democrat who is going to threaten Trump. Biden is done, I doubt he will run. Those pictures will follow him wherever he goes.

Agreed. It won’t be easy. A few votes in every precinct in a state can change the outcome. It seems to me, the libs who voted for Clinton in 2016 are even more anti-Trump now - the persaudables are out there, but it will be tough. I realize that is just in my own small world, but....

Hillary took VA by nearly 5%. Granted, Johnson (L) and Mcmullen(I) scooped something like 4.4% between the two of them, but had every single one of their votes gone to Trump...Hillary still would have won VA, even with Jill Stein pulling 0.7%. I wouldn’t call almost winning.

The real question is can the Dems get a nominee which they can all get behind. They are so busy ripping each othwr apart atm Trumpe could drop numners and still win. The trick isnto encourage the Socialist to such an extent that they do ot turn out to vote for someone like Biden. The Bernie type supporters still have the same issue with superdelegates and if an old white guy gets the nomination I can see that being raised again as well as issues of sex and race. The party has not changed. It is still run by the elites. All those talking points do effect their ability to get out the young and anyone but the base. Women who voted heavily for Hillary are li,ely to stay home too.

I read thoughts like yours in the first week of November 2018 and the repubs lost 40 seats. No one knows, but assume it will be as close if not closer.

Once upon a time, no “respectable” news outlet would even think of publishing such subjective nonsense, much less going through with it,
