Some of the most influential forces in Democratic politics revolted Monday against former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz's prospective presidential bid, insisting that an independent run would unintentionally help President Donald Trump win another four years in office.
The critics included the Democratic chairman of Schultz's home state, another billionaire businessman who long flirted with an independent run of his own, former President Barack Obama's chief strategist, and the most powerful super PAC in Democratic politics.
"If Schultz entered the race as an independent, we would consider him a target... We would do everything we can to ensure that his candidacy is unsuccessful," said Patrick McHugh, executive director of Priorities USA, which spent nearly $200 million in the 2016 presidential contest....

Following this logic, the Republicans should say to the Democrats: Don’t run, there is a chance you would defeat President Trump!

The big political parties are always afraid of third parties but I could handle his candidacy if it helps Trump win.

Every one of these Running Clowns is going to have to go through the Clintoon house. Hillary will have Chelsea deck them.

And of course the idiot local “news” station was pimping Schultz.

The run might be good if it were to split the Rat votes. Trump voters most likely will stand firm for him. Rats like shiny objects. And then you throw in someone who was top dog at their Mecca, Starbucks.

this same piece is running world wide... in every language. Schultz running for Pres guarantees Trump would win!
What gives? It means the DNC thinks he could win the nomination? Even against Beto?

Something tells me that, Schultz doesn't want the democrats to win. All businesses would be adversely affected, including Starbucks. And, no doubt he doesn't want to pay AOC's 70% taxes.
Something also tells me that, most executives who are 'democrats' are in the party, just to deflect the negative flack they'd get by being the 'rich, evil, greedy republicans'. Otherwise, they're 'closet' republicans. And, that includes many of the liberal heads in Hollywood.

Doing the same thing they did last time...anointing a candidate that did not earn it.

Oh excellent. Go, Howard, go!!
I’m going to run right over to the two Starbucks within a block of my residence and swill some of their, well, swill. And chat up the help, tell them how wonderful it would be for Schultz to run. Do they have a donation can?

this is like the 25th news source posted here about this today ... apparently, the long knives are out for Schultz for whatever reason and the Dems sent out that memo to all of their media minions to nuke this guy ... wonder why they’re really scared of him?

An independent is only a democrat who won’t admit it. They try to think they are special.

Huh? He already won the nomination - running as an independent means there is no competition, you just run on your own. He wouldn't be going against Beta or Hillary or anyone until the general election, where he'd siphon of tons of Dem votes, guaranteeing Trump the win.
