With thousands expected to attend President Donald Trump's visit to Southern Illinois, roads in and out of the airport may get congested and some near the airport will be closed during the visit.
Here's a list of known routes that will be open.
SHORTEST ROUTE FROM DOWNTOWN CARBONDALE
1. Take U.S. 51 north towards De Soto for 2.72 miles to Airport Rd. Turn left and head west for 1.81 miles to the Southern IL Airport.
OPTIONAL ROUTES:
2. Take IL 13 west towards Murphysboro for 3.97 miles to Airport Rd. Turn right and head north for 2.23 miles to the Southern IL Airport.
3. Take IL 13 west towards Murphysboro for 1.71 miles to New Era Rd. Turn right and head north for 2.45 miles to Airport Rd. Turn left and head west for 1/2 mile to Southern IL Airport.
SHORTEST ROUTE FROM MURPHYSBORO
1.Take IL 13 east towards Carbondale for 3.11 miles to Airport Rd. Turn left and head north for 2.23 miles to the Southern IL Airport.
OPTIONAL ROUTE:
2. Take IL 13 east towards Carbondale for 5.33 miles to New Era Rd. Turn left and head north for 2.45 miles to Airport Rd. Turn left and head west for 1/2 mile to Southern IL Airport.
SHORTEST ROUTE FROM DE SOTO
Take U.S. 51 south towards Carbondale for 3.84 miles to Airport Rd. Turn right and head west for 1.81 miles to the Southern IL Airport.
Walking distance from Airport Rd. to Hangar 6 is 3/4 of a mile.

Even a good one can be faulty at times.
Yes, I should have left yesterday, and the rally is only 30 miles away. A friend left at 6:00 am (13 hours before the event) and texted that he is around 100th in line with thousands behind him. He’ll get in but no way will I. Go Trump!!
