As Erickson writes, “Trump is neither an ambassador for my values nor the articulate champion of my principles I would prefer. But he is a safe harbor in a progressive storm that seeks to both destroy my values and upend our constitutional republic.”(continued)

What the heck are Erickson's values? And if Trump isn't an ambassador for Erickson's values then just how are Erickson's values different from the progressive storm?

Erick Erickon’s values are likely to tied to the will of his donors. Erickson said he “might” vote for Trump in 2020, he did not commit.

Never Trumpers are very much alive, but they need to hide somewhat as Trump keeps winning.

There’s no way that hard core GOPe commentators like Rick Wilson, George Will, and Kristol will ever buy into Trump. Follow the money and their donors.

Erick “The Red” lost his credibility a long time ago.

I don’t know Erickson, but he indicated that he doesn’t want our constitutional republic to be upended by the Left and that he will vote for Trump in 2020. On these two things, we are in agreement.

Irrespective of other differences he may have with President Trump, for a former “NeverTrumper” to move in the right direction is a positive development, it seems to me. Our country needs more of these folks to move back in this direction.
