Politico is just an arm of the DNC.

Whatever the motive. Trump staying the course through rough waters is the leadership that we rarely see this day and age on the right. It feels fantastic to have a leader that stands strong amongst horrendous storms and comes out winning. It was also fantastic to see the senators pull through with their gonads as well. The party became stronger this past week. Let’s hope and pray that it remains so and grows so in the future.

Trump’s selection of a Bush-connected nominee had George W. and Condoleeza Rice working the phones for him. Something that would not have happened with Coney Barrett, for example.
Trump knew this and that it would unite even the never Trumpers.

I'm reminded how lucky we are that McCain is dead. Piss be upon him.

Poltico spins this a political strategy by Trump, sticking by Kavanaugh only because he feared a loss would depress the GOP midterm vote. As Democrats, they view everything through the lense of power. They are utterly incapable of thinking that anyone would do something because it is the right thing to do.

Ok so I was driving all day and this is my first post since listening to Collins speech on the radio: She was amazing!!!! I fully expected her to bail on the gop and spend an hour lecturing us on why she can’t vote from r Kav. Wow, just wow. She hit a home run! Not only did she lay out her reasoning clearly but summed up every point other Gopers were making all in one beautiful rational speech. Compare that reasonable-ness to the screeching fat cows loose on the hill accosting anythiythat moves😀 That’s crucial because EVERY woman in the country was watching, and certainly changed some fence sitting by suburban woman’s minds. In addition, the absolute beauty, no genius, of letting her speak at a scheduled time to announce this decision, deserves nothing but high praise and admiration.... Turtle....? Was that your doing?...you magnificent son of a bitch! Usually the dems are the ones orchestrating such spectacles while the GOP sits down befuddled. I haven’t seen the gop so unified since Newt, this is unbelievable!

Hopefully, Trump sent McConnell a few Stormy Daniels gift certificates.

Something worked.

They’re rolling out the rationale for why their push polls for the last year will be proved wrong. “Oh, everything changed after Kavanaugh”.

Yeah, I’m getting sick and tired of Hannity constantly puffing lindsay’s p**kr...Historic speech, blah blah blah. Lindsay was just an indignant faggot letting out his inner b!tch. It was even a good rant. Kavanaugh saved his own nomination, not lindsay.

I’ve about had it with that motor mouthed mick

Abandoning Kavanaugh under the existing circumstances would have demoralized the base

I never saw Trump waiver. It was the GOPeers trying to recalibrate which of 65 genders they belong to who tried to run for the exit. We, the Deplorables spent the last couple of weeks fighting on and on and on. It was surprising to see Lindsay turn, but he did, and I hope he learned a life lesson.

I would not want to be Moo Cow right now. She is anathema to Trump's supporters.

Ah, I see. Mr Trump stuck with Kavanaugh as a raw political calculation. That he knew the feeling of a false charge was only a minor consideration. OK.

political warfare over Kavanaugh's fate is having a “boomerang effect” on Democrats

libs and their redistribution strategies are soooo fake.

It was never a “gamble” for Trump to staunchly back Kavanaugh throughout this ordeal. Indeed, the gamble would have been bailing on him and trying to find another nominee at the 11th hour - a gamble he would certainly have lost, pushing the confirmation past the midterms and handing the Senate and House to the Dems. Trump played hardball, as he always does, and he is now being rewarded with a victory. This was his nominee and he would not budge. Unlike virtually any other GOP President. I am very proud of my President. And very proud of Judge K and his wife for refusing to be bullied.

Three things that were true: 1) Mitch does what he says he’s gonna do, 2) Kav doesn’t quit, 3) Trump doesn’t quit. Now I have to add 4) God works in unexpected ways (Collins)

“Comments?”

My only comment is that this makes it sound like Trump supported his nominee out of strategic self interest - I doubt it.

True, Trump is a smart guy - but that’s not why he steadfastly supported Bret Kavanaugh when other Presidents would have bailed. It was because he is a stand up guy. He knew Kavanaugh was being put through the ringer by these a-hole Democrats and there is only one honorable way out of this for Bret Kavanaugh - to win.

So let’s be clear about this: Trump didn’t throw him under the bus because Trump doesn’t throw people under the bus eleven they don’t deserve it.

Trump doesn’t cave when he knows he is right - this is their feeble attempt to explain why he won’t abandon a good man due to ugly and hateful dem opposition.
