Friday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” former Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele likened President Donald Trump’s rally last night in Wilkes-Barre, PA to a “circus” that is causing “swing voters” to move away from Republicans.
Steele said, “Pennsylvania is a bellwether for a number of important races coming up this fall and the fact that the president is so narrowly playing to a base, that he feels good in that setting, he’s having fun, he’s riffing and cussing and doing all this and those folks are loving it. To Charlie’s point, the rest of the country, the independent voters, center/right Democrats, and Republicans are looking at this and going, ‘what is this all about?’ ………..
(Steele) added, “I think, back to your point about swing voters, I think those swing voters are moving away from the Trump circus and focusing more on the fact that they want something a little bit different, and this ain’t it.”

Lost in all of this is the discussion about people like me. Staunch conservatives who did NOT vote for Candidate Trump but will now vote for President Trump.
Before election day, Candidate Trump made several statements that made many of us conservatives think that he was just another RINO. I am very pleased to say that I was wrong and will be voting for him by proxy in 2018 and directly in 2020. I also believe that there are many thousands in the GOP base that feel the same way and those votes will offset any votes that move to the “middle”

Steele’s is wishing the swing voters are moving away from Trump. Steele’s comments remind me of the child who wanted his parents to buy him a pair of Niki Keven Durant tennis shoes. When they refused, he said, “I didn’t need those crappy Keven Durant tennis shoes, anyway.” Wait until he says, “I didn’t need those crappy Trump voters, anyway.”
I can’t wait for the mid-term elections to get here. It’ll show how wrong these Rinos like Steele and pundits at CNN and MSNBC are. The reactions of the networks’ reporters and MSM will be priceless like 2016.
