The campaign manager for Bernie Sanders in his 2016 presidential run hinted that the Independent senator from Vermont may run for the White House again in 2020.
Sanders is “considering another run for the presidency,” but for now is completely focused on his congressional re-election campaign in November, Jeff Weavers said in an interview with C-Span host John McArdle on Monday.
Sanders made waves as the progressive who consistently challenged former secretary of state Hillary Clinton in his 2016 primary bid. His platform largely focused on issues like universal healthcare and income equality.
When Sanders announced his candidacy for president in 2015, he was 50 points behind Clinton in almost every major national poll. But with his popularity among young Democratic voters, he closed that gap and ended up winning 22 states and about 45 percent of the pledged delegates before conceding and endorsing Clinton at the Democratic National Convention....

My exact first thought.
Bernie is the wrong color, wrong sex, wrong sexual preference, wrong nationality for a Democratic candidate in 2020.
But if he wants to enter the craziness, he should go for it.
He is however the right ideology, communist/socialist/Marxist blend.
Yep....him as independent and Biden or Harris as Democrat splitting the liberal vote. That would be perfect and with the split may open up some down-vote races to the republicans.

Bernie couldn’t beat Hillary, and Hillary couldn’t beat Trump. Gee, I wonder what would happen with this potential race.
He needs to run as an independent. The Dems won’t let him back.
I think Bernie is a very formidable candidate.
I believe he may have beaten Trump in the election, if he were the democrat candidate. I really do. We were lucky the dems ran Hillary.
Now I do not believe Sanders is now the power he was last election. Trump has really, quite effectively been after Bernie’s supporters.
But be ready.
Bernie is a very motivating candidate for a lot of the left. It will be a very interesting race, if Bernie runs against Trump.
This time Trump will have his base.
But don’t discount him. He could be a big challenger.
