Don’t you think you should have asked those on his list if they would allow you to ping them?

I used Cedar Dave's pinglist -- it's right there on his profile w/ instructions on how to do so.

I rather assumed it was acceptable because all the information is right there on CederDave's page.

As Mr. Fish said the NM Ping list is on my home page and available for use by New Mexico FR members. It has not been abused by others and I would like to keep it open for others to use for local, New Mexico related news items.

In its use in this instance I would say that the post comes close to being unwelcome by its members. While not knowing Mr. Fish, I would have to say that announcing his candidacy in such a manner with the information he provided appears non-serious at best. I’m not asking the mods to remove it, but would caution all that posts in the News Forum should not appear to be frivolous or trivial.
