Duane Miller realized at the very last minute last November that he was going to vote for a candidate he didnt much like, Donald Trump. He did not even really vote for Trump, to hear him describe it.
Instead, he voted against Washington fecklessness and corruption, which he saw as embodied by Hillary Clinton, in his eyes the ultimate establishment candidate, who was doubtlessly going to win anyway, he thought.
I thought there was no way that Trump could beat Hillary, right up till the end, said Miller. Right up to the night before.
That was almost a year ago, now. Enough time for the surprise of Trumps victory to sink in. Enough time to get a look at Trump in the White House, and to assess his performance as president.
Miller, 79, a Democrat and the former mayor of Bangor, Pennsylvania, has not been impressed by Trump but it would be inaccurate to say that Miller is surprised, either, because, as he puts it, he never mistook Trump for a political savior. It is a view shared by many of the customers at his paint store, he said.
Trumps losing support because of his, of the complete stupidity you know, maybe we should give him an IQ test with others, Miller said, referring to Trumps recent challenge to secretary of state Rex Tillerson to compare IQ tests. People are getting fed up with that. But theres not much of an alternative. Well elect someone in four years. So.
Conversations with Trump voters as the anniversary of the 8 November election nears do not typically reveal such regret. Most people who voted for the president are still solidly behind him, at least in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, which voted for Barack Obama twice before opting for Trump last fall....

No, he did not vote for Trump. It states “He did not even really vote for Trump” meaning he’s just making sh*t up for us sane people to read about this idiot’s Trump hate rants.
They found one guy who sort of regrets his vote. In a state of 13 million people.
The Guardian is a far left publication.
For a man who has to fight the representatives and Senators from BOTH parties every time he tries to help the American people, he ain’t doin’ a bad job.....
This story notwithstanding, I think we should view this as a cautionary tale.
We got Obama because of Bush. We got Trump because of Obama/Clinton.
She was a deeply flawed, corrupt candidate. Even Democrats knew that. Many Dems stayed home and simply didn’t vote. If the Democrats run a “moderate” candidate, and I don’t mean Uncle Bernie or that Witch Warren - then I think Trump will have a serious, serious challenge getting re-elected. And it will all be painted as an overreaction from buyer’s remorse.
That’s my gut feeling right now.
I don’t believe this bullshit, not even for one second. Another jerk off that will be part of the 62% that think Trump is doing a ‘poor job’. Fake news, fake polls taken by the same assholes that said the hildabutchbitch was a 97% favorite last year.
Whenever FOX goes to a Diner in PA, EVERYONE that voted for TRUMP, still LOVES him!
Things are right on schedule... some RINO's are already starting to self-drain from Congress and in the coming months things are going to start getting quite interesting.
It's a complete miracle that Trump has managed to stay in office thus far (and stay alive)... and he's just now starting to get some real traction on the tough task of swamp-draining.
so far he is EXCEEDING my expectations.
Er, no.
Do you bother at all following my voter registration stats?

Read my latest data. Then we’ll talk.
But, here we are a year later. He's not delivered on *everything* promised, a point that Never Trumpers will belabor. However, he's delivered on a whole lot, mostly by rolling back some of the XO insanity put in place by his predecessor.
He's taken huge steps to defund the more odious parts of Obamacare, and to deregulate insurance companies so that they're not funded by a captive audience.
Illegal immigration is at a 45 year low (I didn't believe it, until I read it on FR).
Food stamp recipients are down 1.5 million under Trump, and I'd guess that a part of it is because of illegals self-deporting.
H1B and H2B programs are rolling back.
EPA is rolling back some of the more odious regs, and its minions are leaving in droves.
The market loves it. Up 25% or so since last November? Awesome.
And, I could go on, but you get the point. People usually vote their wallets which is good for Trump, and already have a lot of "Trump is Hitler" fatigue...so that won't play well in 2020.
My bet, unless Republicans shoot themselves in the foot (always a possibility) and/or Dems find someone on their bench who isn't a retread (Biden/Bernie/Warren) or a complete idiot (Kamala Harris) ... Trump wins it going away.

28m agoTrump is, and always was, obviously a disgusting individual [would the moral right look at his attitude to women & business ethics], totally dishonest & dangerous [fiscal conservatives look at his tax policies]
But there now seems to be a world trend It started with the Arab Spring when middle class, educated & optimistic people wanted abetter country. Democracy showed that there was a vast hinterland of angry left behinds. In Europe many countries have more and more people voting for nasty racist parties. In the UK people ignored/marginalised experts and voted for Brexit; what an indictment of our education system. Belief in conspiracies, hatred of liberals, PC behaviour, women & education has become acceptable to ignorant white males. That women and decent people can be beguiled by the likes of Bannon is just so dispiriting
It's the 1930s revisited, depression, protectionism, America/Germany/Britain First, turning on minorities and foreigners, bellicose international posturing The stupidity of Trumpists, Brexiteers, National Front etc is beyond my comprehension
Yep. I commented on this very thing to Dad the other night. The chickens are starting to come home to roost. If Trump wins the 2020 elections, I'd look for a real reckoning among a fair number of mid-level Dems. Hillary? Holder? Lynch? BO? Not too likely, but they'll have a conveyor belt to feed all of their minions right under the bus to take a fall for them.
And, I'd be OK with that, I think. Would be nice to get the big fish, but if we clean out the rest of the pond, I could live with that. Particularly if it means that a lot of the up-and-coming sleazeballs get the legs cut out from under them.
Let them keep dancing to false music played of Pan’s flute. When the music stops they will be laughed at.
I voted for Trump for the judges. So far, so good. If McConnell would get his reptilian rump in gear and confirm some more it would be a homerun.
Recent survey: 98% of Trump’s base supports him strongly.
I was totally behind DJT on election day, and today I back him—including
his “behavior” —one thousand percent.
I agree. People like Hillary or BO will never go to prison, but its not that important in the bigger picture. What's important that their influence is neutered and the bigger swamp gets drained and we get a responsible government back again.
Let Hillary and BO sit out their retirement years with no power over us... let them go down in history as the crooks that they are. Many of the mid-level crooks will go to prison and/or lose their wealth over all this stuff, and that will help scare future crooks off (for a while at least).

I was confused and bewildered on Election Day and I wrote in my choice.
After watching President Trump ever since he won, I have fallen in love with him. He is amazing. He is natural (almost impossible to find ), he is sensitive, he is strong (don’t fool with him), he is wise, he is pleasant (even in his criticism of media)and so many other qualities too numerous to list. I cannot wait to vote for him when the time comes and I feel so fortunate to have him as my President.
I was in the business world for twenty-five years. He is an almost perfect business man and I would have loved having him for a boss.
PS: I love his family
Look as corrupt as the IRS was, he is just starting to get a New IRS head in place.
Today contractors displayed prototypes of the WALL.
food stamp use has dropped, so has unemployment.
He is doing what he promised, but between the deep state, Democrats and gutless Republican Rino’s, it is taking far longer than it should, but that isn't Trump's fault.
