Anything other than the market rate is “insane.”
Might as well go for a hundred dollars an hour.
This stupid stuff sells to stupid, ignorant people.
Does he also dress like Santa Claus?
You FReepers are intolerant! $1,000/hr minimum-wage now!!!!
“Thats fewer job opportunities for low-skill workers”
The liberal answer to that is to have them self-identify as highly skilled workers. Then replace actual highly skilled workers with them. Problem solved. Highly skilled workers need to check thier privilege anyhow. /s
Why not eliminate all unfairness and enable us all to live like millionaires? Mandate that everyone in the US, starting with those wonderful “dreamers”, must be given $1 million per year. After all, how is it fair that people like the Kardashians get to drive Ferraris when the rest of us must do without? The US government has been borrowing money more irresponsibly than the most determined credit card fraudster, and the plain fact is that the US will never be able to pay off the national debt, so let’s all go out in style - borrow some more and let’s all spend, spend, spend.
Otherwise, not worth getting off the couch and SS&S to go to work!
I’m sitting here wondering what sort of bass-akwards cart-before-the-horse “logic” led to the precise number of $26.80.
I’m betting he wants everybody to be above average, lol.
this is how the socialists get the unions into everything - march for $15, then sign agreements with employers they don’t have to pay it if they agree to be union shops. The employees end up making less, because now they gotta pay union dues on top of their below $15 wage. But, you know, #brotherhood
If Virginia tries it, one way or another, it will provide a valuable lesson for everyone else.
It’s very easy to say you want something when there is no chance of ever getting it. He just wants name recognition, and the gullible to support him. In other words, it’s nothing more than a stunt to get his heretofore unknown name in the papers, and have people talking about him.
BWAHAHAHAHA
Delusion runs deep
Why not fifty dollars? Or a hundred?
To increase the minimum wage to $26.80 per hour. This is what the minimum wage would be if it had grown at the same rate as the economy since 1968. However, Montigue recognizes that this could be a burden on some small businesses, and will make exceptions in law for businesses making less than $2 million in profit, and unionized businesses.
To establish and fund paid family and medical leave for all Virginians. The paid leave act would guarantee time off for as many as 120 days a year and provide at least 75% of a workers average income. Every worker is eligible for paid leave for pregnancy, adoption, and foster care, as well as personal or family leave.
To repeal anti-labor laws and allow labor unions to fund themselves and engage in collective bargaining for the benefit of all workers. To allow you to take your boss to court if they do not pay you, by enacting a private right of action in civil court. To fully staff and fund the offices responsible for the protection of labor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. To provide $15,000 per year, without condition, to every Virginian.
To reduce inequality, rebuild our public services, and make the rich pay their fair share, by raising the income tax on people making more than $500,000 to 12%.
In short...bankrupt everything.
Nothing wrong with that. Why not $5,000? Here is what the NY Slime said a while back: The Right Minimum Wage: $0.00

For a state that is not in the tropics or even the subtropics, we sure have a lovely bunch of cocoNUTS.
How much money already goes to people who don’t work at all?
Townhall has gotten all uppity about adblockers. Let ‘em fall on the ash heap with the Soviets.
