As Democrats survey the political landscape and focus on rebuilding the party after the disastrous 2016 election, there’s no denying that a change in leadership is desperately needed. One of the primary complaints leveled by Democratic supporters during and after the 2016 election was the lack of diverse faces in leadership positions. A party once led by Barack Obama and his picturesque first family is now scrambling to find candidates that can excite millennials and invigorate the base. It should come as no surprise to anyone well versed in Washington politics that managing to do both is no easy task. Politicians like Obama come along once in a generation.
This fractured relationship was clearly evident in the 2016 presidential campaign. Bad blood between Sanders and Clinton supporters during the presidential primary spilled over into the Democratic convention and hampered Clinton’s ability to unite the base in the general election. While Clinton certainly ran a flawed campaign that suffered from weak messaging and questionable strategic choices, it’s undeniable that soft support from the “Bernie wing” of the party contributed to her historic loss.....

CERTAINLY the DNC can come up with much better, stronger, more saleable candidates than the people mentioned in this article!

(but really, Obama was a fluke...a very very clever and of course highly-financed fluke of a win....it is not likely to recur.....the D’s need a saleable candidate now if they are to win.... and I CANNOT believe its impossible for them to find one....somewhere....someone other than the same old very very very very very tired faces they’ve been parading these last few years!......
Not sure how Korea and Iran will play out in the next three years, but I don’t think it will leave voters yearning for an all girl orchestra.

good let them concentrate on “diversity” and we will keep trying to win hearts and minds on ideas and not Marxist inspired agendas - ours has been working heads over heals above them in state after state, and 2018 and 2020 is the time to move that, by the grass roots, to the positions of the recalcitrant GOP leadership in the U.S. congress.

Like the man used to say, the jokes just write themselves and this ticket will keep comedians in business for years.
