Veteran journalist Carl Bernstein says “important Republicans” are saying privately that President Trump is “unfit” for office and urged reporters to look into how widespread those worries may be.
Bernstein took to Twitter on Tuesday to make the claims, but did not identify any specific individuals who have called Trump unfit.
He said reporters should look into how “pervasive such talk may be.”

The famous Watergate reporter’s tweets come as Trump is under fire for his response to the deadly violence in Charlottesville, Va., at a white supremacist rally over the weekend.
Trump initially blamed the violence on “many sides.” Those remarks drew condemnation from leaders in both parties. Trump readdressed the matter Monday, calling racism “evil” and singling out the KKK and neo-Nazis among other groups for organizing the rally.
Bernstein has been a vocal critic of Trump, saying last month that his administration was “dangerous beyond any modern presidency."

There should be a probe of Bernstein’s role in promoting the Fusion GPS phony dossier. Did Bernstein receive classified information from the intelligence community about a confidential briefing to the President?

carl, the people of this country elected President Trump, not “important Republicans”. Since President Trump isn’t a member of the “Important Republicans” Club, naturally they hate his guts, particularly since the “Important Republicans” have now lost control of the the GOP rank and file BECAUSE of Trump! In other words, the “Important Republicans” don’t just hate Trump’s guts, but they are also scared shitless of him!
The only difference between Carl Bernstein and Bob Beckel is when Bob paid hookers with a personal check they didn’t bounce.
They really are getting desperate as they see their “all-in” efforts failing.
