“Democratic-leaning constituencies - people of color, the poor, young people and other morons ...
Yawn. Another bigoted anti-white attack article.
Gee, how horrible to have to use voter ID! How rascist!
I mean, just because you need to use ID to do banking, rent property, get a library book, buy cigarettes, beer, book a hotel, fly on a plane, drive a vehicle, get treated at a hospital, donate blood, or ten gazillion other things, doesn’t mean it’s not rascist to require it for voting!
(do i need /sarc?)
“There already is evidence that merely asking for the data is stopping people from registering.”
If they are afraid to register knowing the data will be check, then they must be illegal voters. Good riddance.
Little Scotty sounds like a racist little b*tch. He has a problem with white people.
And legal-er.
HAHAHAHAHA! Translation, “They’re going to take away our young illegal alien Democrat voters!” HAHAHAHAHA!
Another MSM snowflake carrying the water for the Democrats. Curtailing early voting and issuing voter ID cards is not a form of racism or voter intimidation. These are the best ways to keep Democrats from STEALING VOTES AND ELECTIONS!
Haha.. This probably started out as a straight news article. But even Rooters had to flag it as commentary.
One thing that would help with regards to voters moving, etc is to issue a new
voter ID card every two years which is to be returned to the Registrar if not
deliverable as addressed. That name can then be removed from the voter list.
Forcing people to be honest, is “racist”? Well, that proves our point, being dishonest must be their way of life.
I say, “No ID anywhere, for anything.”. Just give me your bank account information, and I’ll fill out a withdrawal slip from your account. No ID needed.
Need a picture ID to attend a liberal meeting about the unfairness of requiring ID’s...wow, that makes sense, not.
I think we should get rid of early voting, motor voting, and absentee voting (with the possible exception of military stationed overseas). We should adopt the purple finger dye, that lasts at least a week, to quell the double and triple voting.
Of course, wieners like this guy area against it, it thwarts their modus operandi. Me? I vote honestly, duly registered, with ID and I only vote once. That makes me all for ID voting, as there is no ulterior motive involved.
Those who a outraged by laws and rules, are the very ones wanting to break them.
I read the whole piece. Did I miss the bit where they give a little bio on Mr. Lemieux? I didn’t find one. But if this dude is who I think he is, I can see why Rooters wouldn’t provide that info to their readers.
He writes lots of lefty scribblings for New Republic. Here's a good one:
Dont Overthink It: Donald Trump Will Probably Lose
Trump has defied expectations before, but he remains a singularly weak general election candidate.

I choose the “wealthier” part, Mr. President! And the older isn’t too bad regardless of color; certain folks if a bit wealthier might kill one another less often.
In Indiana, our driver’s licenses are smart IDs and serve as a voter ID as well. When I moved to Indiana and got my license and plates, I was asked if I wanted to register to vote. Proof of residency and citizenship were already provided for the license, so they also proved my eligibility to vote.
I notice tons of young people and people of color driving automobiles around here. I don’t see too many hoofing it, and public transportation is not available everywhere. Those driving supposedly have licenses. If they aren’t voting, why not? They didn’t register, perhaps. They are not legally eligible to vote, perhaps. If they are registered and legally eligible to vote, they have the same opportunity as I do. My age, my whiteness, and my supposed wealth are or should be irrelevant. All they have to do is show up and do their civic duty, the same as I do.
I read the entire article — and a stupid one it is— and it is basically an exercise in the writer’s frustration that the deck is stacked in other ways against the “popular” leftist agenda. He doesn’t like the Electoral College (unless, of course the results turn out his way.) He doesn’t like it that the smaller, rural, and supposedly whiter states are disproportionately represented in the Senate. So he essentially has an argument with the Constitution. This, from an instructor in political science. I’ll bet his classes are interesting.
Well, as you know, this gets in Reuters and the Lefts’ way of cramming the country with “immigrants” who will vote Democrat....
Rooters being racist again.
Trump’s plan to make voters legal and give them the power to vote out the swamp rats.
Trump’s plan? Hell, Donald wasn’t even a card carrying Republican until fairly recently, and earlier, he was as likely to be donor to a liberal Democrat for office as he may have for any Republican, regardless of stripe. In fact, there is every chance, that if Bill Clinton had not come out of nowhere in 1992 and won the Presidential election that year, that Trump could have very well run for the Presidency as a Democrat in 1996 and won.
The search for a legitimate verified voter roll is apart from any political party, and should be the objective of any honest student of government by democracy.
TDS at it’s finest:-)
