Let's face it: The past 100 days have been a disaster ... for Democrats.
While much ink has been spilled in the past week assessing President Donald Trump's first 100 days in office, the Democrats' abysmal performance has largely escaped scrutiny. So let's review their record.
The Democrats spent much of Trump's first months in office pushing their unfounded narrative of Trump's alleged collusion with Vladimir Putin. But that narrative went up in smoke when Trump launched missile strikes against Putin's Syrian ally, Bashar Assad. Trump not only hit the air base from which Assad allegedly had launched his chemical weapons attack but also dropped the "mother of all bombs" on the Democrats' efforts to paint him as a Putin puppet. His Syrian strikes were followed by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley's blistering speech before the U.N. Security Council laying the blame on Russia for failing to stop Syria's use of chemical weapons and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis's charge, on a recent visit to Afghanistan, that Russia is arming the Taliban. Suddenly, we're in a new Cold War with Moscow which pours cold water on Democrats' case for Trump-Putin collusion. All that effort at character assassination down the drain.
But most damaging has been the Democrats' seemingly nonstop efforts to further alienate the millions of Americans who twice voted for Barack Obama but switched to Trump last year. The president's critics have pointed to a Post-ABC News poll, which showed that Trump had not expanded his base of support since he took office. Well, Trump did not need to expand his base. He won the election....

The Democrats got the Trillion Dollar Budget of their dreams.
We can’t even cobble an alternative to ObamaCare that will pass. This after at least three attempts!
They are not the ones on a losing streak, as much as I wish it were so.
Yeah, but they won what really mattered the most: the budget....and won it BIG TIME. The budget dictates what gets funded and not funded. No wall, PP funded, OC funded, EPA funded, etc. and We got NOTHING. I lay the blame not on Trump, but on Ryan and McConnell. It’s beyond time for term limits.
SWAMP Wins, Trump (and the People) lose.....again.
bttt
Trump cannot escape blame forever. If he does not approve of what Ryan and Sessions are doing, or appearing to be doing, then he needs to replace them. I’m inclined to believe that he’s okay with certain areas being unchanged.
Your assumption is that Republicans wanted to repeal ObamaCare.
Many did not. They aren’t “Losing” — they are doing the bidding of those that bought and paid for them.
The Uniparty runs the country. We have the illusion of voting and a democracy, but both parties are controlled by the same globalists.
Where’s our wall? Where’s the ObamaCare repeal?
Trump ran as a third party populist candidate against BOTH parties.
How does the president “replace” the Speaker of the House or the Senate Majority Leader in our system of government?
Thiessen’s a sales guy.
Just spin.
Great article.
How does Trump get the Propaganda Press to provide free media for his campaign?
Sadly, the swamp seems draining our very well intended President.....pray for the man.....with GOPe saboteurs like Ryan & McConnell undermining his agenda there isn’t much Trump can do to rescue our country from the failed policies of the globalist elites...
The bankrupting of the US, flooding the borders, targeting of genuine conservatives continues at breakneck speed.
Agree completely. Trump is a realist. He is playing the hand he’s been dealt and looking forward to the next hand.
If I remember right this budget is only until the end of September then it’s a new fiscal year and time to get down to a full year of a budget.
Trump is limited by the Uni-party as mentioned but hopefully he bargain his way through to getting more done for the bigger fish in Sept.
In a perfect world/country the republicans would be lining up behind his agenda but we don’t live in that place so... he’s doing what he can and so far I’m pretty happy with it. My biggest issue was illegal immigration and we still have a long way to go before all the illegals are gone but we have seen more progress in the last 100 days than we have seen in 60 or 70 years; whenever operation “Wetback” happened. If this can be made permanent and we get better barriers built; our country will thrive and eventually come together. Sure, we may have to strip the citizenship of those who don’t become American and break our laws, but at least we are moving in the right direction again.
Ah yes, they won the budget.
But it’s now up to the exec branch as how much to spend, or not spend on each line item in each catagory. Say that the budget funds the 2300 folks in the State dept. that Tillertson has identified as history, he can still fire them and come in under budget. It only gets dicey if a dept wants to go over budget.
So it ain’t a done deal, drain the swamp, now!
Rinos are “realists.” Our problem is and always has been the “realists.”
If that’s a disaster I’d hate to see what their success looks like.
They couldn’t have done better if Hildabeast had won or Dumb’O was still in the white hut. No wall, No defunding PP, no defunding sanctuary cities, no elimination of obamacare, no tax cuts, no cuts in immigration from terrorist countries, no increase in military spending, no cuts to NPR, or the NEA...
They’re downright giddy with their “disaster”.
“Trump ran as a third party populist candidate against BOTH parties.”
And now he’s going to sign what they want. Has he already been co-opted? Is he going to be another Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Did any of us who voted for him ever expected that he would give in so easy to the establishment?
Except for a few executive orders he has nothing to show, worse yet I don’t see him fighting for what he campaigned on and promised his voters!
If he thinks that he’ll be able to get back in september any of what he’s already surrendered now, he’s dreaming.
Because he got rolled now, he’s only going to be seen as weaker come september. Where exactly is he going to get the power and allies to do then what he couldn’t do now? His enemies are only going to be emboldened.
I will give Trump until the big budget, but the White House going along with this is an embarrassment for them. Trump touted his negotiating skills, yet he/the Republicans got outnegotiated by political hacks Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer this go round. If they can’t get it done in September, the Republicans are toast.
Part of his problem is he needed a lot more guys like Bannon, but he allowed some swamp people to get into the Administration. He needed a full, united team to get the Republicans in line and fight the Democrats, but instead we hear there is infighting his team between people like Bannon and Cohn. Cohn is a globalist Democrat.
