The investigation into possible Trump campaign collusion with Russia is probably going to disappoint a lot of people, and by people I mean partisan Democrats. Thats the thrust of a report at Buzzfeed based on conversations with half-a-dozen people involved in the investigation, both Republicans and Democrats:
Even some Democrats on the Intelligence Committee now quietly admit, after several briefings and preliminary inquiries, they dont expect to find evidence of active, informed collusion between the Trump campaign and known Russian intelligence operatives, though investigators have only just begun reviewing raw intelligence. Among the Intelligence Committees rank and file, theres a tangible frustration over what one official called wildly inflated expectations surrounding the panels fledgling investigation.
Now, several committee sources grudgingly say, it feels as if the Senate doesnt find a silver bullet connecting Trump and Russian intelligence operatives, the investigation will be seen as a sham.
I dont think the conclusions are going to meet peoples expectations, a second official said.
Gee, I wonder who has been wildly inflating those expectations of this investigation? Who is it that has been on television day after day after day, talking about collusion, treason and impeachment? Thats a tough one. Might it be the Democrats?
The Buzzfeed story goes on to say that nearly all of the people they spoke to think its unlikely any silver bullet will be found. One official said even if some contacts between Russia and the campaign were identified, they wouldnt be referred. Meaning its unlikely anyone did anything that would put them at risk of prosecution.
All of this matches what House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes told reporters last month, i.e. accusations of collusion were looked into but in the end theres nothing there. That is not going to go over well with the progressive base that has been worked into a frenzy with every new story of some Republican in Trumps orbit meeting with the Russian ambassador.
Democrats have only themselves to blame if this blows up in their faces.
Or both times ?
Both.....
bump
The deep state has issued stand down orders at the moment while they measure the field. They backed up their directives with threats. I can see hear and smell the cessation.
Especially since the Vault 7 leaks say:
1. The CIA can hack everything and does.
2. They were monitoring Trump via FISA warrants using Russian ties as an excuse.
3. They hack stuff and make it look like the Russians did it.
So the Russian espionage/puppet story falls apart when we now know the Obama administration hacked it and could/would make it look like Russians did it.
POPCORN! I NEED MORE POPCORN!!!!!
Won’t keep the leftists from bringing it up in every message board from now until the end of time just like Palin seeing Russia from her house.
“It’s the appearance of impropriety.” So says the dumbocrap leaders.
They still bring up Bush vs. Gore and Vietnam.
It's dead Jim.
“Democrats have only themselves to blame if this blows up in their faces.”
Worse than blowing up in their faces, the counter investigation is likely to put some of them in prison.
“2. They were monitoring Trump via FISA warrants using Russian ties as an excuse.”
That was not in the Vault 7 leaks.
Now you know why that little Ferret-Adam Shiff left the Intelligence Briefing avoiding the press and white as a ghost. The same briefing Gowdy later said people needed to listen to the experts and not the NY Times and Compost.
He was told he and the Rats were full of shit!
Nothing. Burger.
That’s it. Game, set, and match.
I use Yahoo for emails and their news feeds invariably follow the liberal line. In the last 2-3 days, the wire-tapping thingy or the Russian articles have not showed up. The few times I made comments saying obama & Crew lied to the judges to get the FISA warrant drew no screaming epithets I usually get to my posts.
Lately, I've been telling 'em to wait a week, see how things sort out and get back to us then (with the assumption that things will fall apart, as they are apparently doing).
