Is President Trump in the process of imploding? Some see reason to think so. Given the major fallout over his travel ban, ranging from the spontaneous protests that have broken out worldwide to a federal judge ruling that the ban needed to be stopped, it seems as though Trump is struggling. Over the past few days, many commentators have pointed to the presidents abysmally low approval ratings, with 53 percent of Americans unhappy with the way that he has handled the job, as evidence that his power may be vastly limited by his unpopularity. With Trump madly (and impotently) tweeting about so-called judges, the weekend has offered a real sense that this president can be stopped.
Yet his opponents probably should not start uncorking the champagne bottles just yet.
Ronald Reagan, whose approval ratings fell from 51 percent in his first year as president to a meager 34 percent by 1982, was also the focus of international and domestic fury. Reagan triggered an international uproar when he insisted on the deployment of 572 intermediate-range nuclear force missiles in Western Europe, fulfilling a NATO agreement that had been finalized in 1979. When Reagan moved forward this plan, there was an outcry from New York to the streets of Paris....

Exactly. Foolish Dems are firing all their ammo, and getting no hits.
Eliz Warren is fast on her way to being yesterday’s news. If she wants to be President, she is peaking about 7 years and 10 months too early.
There was a massive wave of anger and protest against Reagan, but it received far less coverage. We are so saturated with 24/7 news coverage now that the news makes its own news and other news outlets cover the news story as if it were real news. It has become pretty ridiculous and reporters are more openly partisan today IMO than they were when the Reagan administration began. On top of that, we have the alt-news on both the left and the right that report with even more click grabbing hysterics on every story and insinuation because that is how they make money. The more sensational the better and this has led to more people becoming more hysterical.
It is a far different world for media than what Reagan walked into and combined with the all-time high partisanship I would judge that Trump has it worse, but the 60’s radicals were pretty unhinged over the Gipper.
> These poll numbers are bunk.
Even if the polls were not fake, I’d still prefer to have 4 years of Trump being Trump, doing what America needs, rather than 8 years of a “W” style administration.
this seems more like the Nixon era to me....they actually had to ring the white house with buses....Kent happened..even some republicans thought Nixon was kinda crazy...and he went on to one of the biggest landslides ever. Trump admired Nixon..as long as he keeps the fight legal, he’ll crush em.
He grew a multi billion dollar fortune by heeding his own advice, and doing things the Trump way. He also became President by changing nothing about himself.
I think President Trump will do just fine by continuing in the same manner.
Reagan had a landslide in the electoral college and popular vote
Trump did not approach his margin of victory
Lot more brainwashed left wingers around now
30 years of our colleges etc pumping them out

Yep, no only are protests not hurting Trump, if the Dem party continues to allow the Control Left to dominate this rabidness, they are going to get decimated in 2018.
Quite frankly the protests are hurting the Democratic party.
“Divide and conquer” has been the rally cry from the left since before the French Revolution.
Karl Marx made it into a rally cry of his revolution and its this resulted in the death of millions.
The difference is that what we are seeing here is not the start of a revolution. Trump was the revolution. What we are seeing are the death throes of a major political party.
Trump is never going to be a Ronald Reagan.
He is going to be something far greater.
“Spontaneous protests.”
They report complete lies with such ease.
yeah, but Reagan did get shot....
“ranging from the spontaneous protests that have broken out”
The protests were not spontaneous. That is pure bs.
I lived through the Reagan era. The level of hatred against Reagan felt very similar to,the level of hatred against Trump. It is terrible, but sadly, nothing new.
W also got hated a lot, but is no longer a byword here in San Francisco.
Reagan is still mentioned hatefully. He is blamed for all bad things. For example all the homeless grifters, insane and drug addicts running around. This town owned and run by the most liberal if demicrats for decades, blames...Ronald Reagan for it. As if.
And trump is hated passionately. Everyone just assumes you hate him, too. I drive a cab and my passengers just assume it. But 10 percent of San Francisco voted for Trump.
I want to see a Simpsons episode where an assassin tries to shoot Trump but instead Trump pulls out a gold plated 1911 and drills the perp with two to the chest and one between the eyes of solid gold bullets.
Better yet the perp actually yets a shot off but Trump rips off his shirt to show gold dragonskin body armor.
The liberals are forecasting Trumps demise because Simpsons episodes are always prophecy. And there was an episode of Trumps death 7 months after being elected.
More wishful wet-dreaming by the WaaaaaaaaaaPo....
