My very elderly German mother says this is an all too familiar scene from her youth and for the first time in her American life she is scared for this country. History repeating.

Impressive....you can quote Revelations.....

Does that make you feel more religious or morally superior to others?

The question was never the text but the interpretation as applied to current times.....

Try to keep up...

Leftists are atheists. Every one of them. It is the unifying element. They do not believe in moral absolutes but insist their personal morality is absolute. They are gods in their own minds, capable of no wrong. To my way of thinking this is the aegis of leftism as a mental disease.

So, let me get this straight. Mr. Douglas points out that scripture says "they" win in the end (before Christ's return) and you wonder what bible he is reading to draw that conclusion. Then, when I quote the relevant passage in order to show you where the Bible says that, you fall back on "the interpretation as applied to current times".

Mr. Douglas's original post stated The bible sez they will win in the end.

What part of "the end" don't you understand?

As far as feeling more religious or morally superior, nope, but your lame ad hominem is duly noted.

As far as "trying to keep up" goes, you lost the race when you sat down at your keyboard this morning.

“Duplicate”

Don’t care. Post at will.

Many of us have actual lives, and can’t monitor the forum day and night.

I wouldn’t have seen this excellent article if it hadn’t been posted again this morning.

I lived in Germany 15 years after world war 2. I was a 6 year old army brat . We heard how neighbors and “friends” and family turned people over to the gestapo. They did it to support the Fatherland.

Now when I read some Freeper saying “I have liberal friends”, the first thing I think is, “no you don’t”.

Strong, independent, honest and intelligent - all the qualities the left hates in women on the right.

Keep the faith!

It’s “Revelation”. No “s”.

It is the Revelation of Jesus to John.

The Left senses, perhaps unconsciously, that its ideology is bankrupt but they deny that fact at the conscious level. Hence the painful cognitive dissonance with such pain being expressed in anger and, even, violence.

Brilliantly stated, Rooster.

I think we've all seen people react with anger when they've been caught in a lie. The bigger the lie, or deeper the deception, the stronger the rage on the part of the guilty party.

This is the observed group reaction of the socio-political left at this point in our history.

They're enraged because they know we 'normals' have seen the utter falsity of their whole world view. They desire a world that never has, and never will be. It's not because the normals resist the glorious transformation of Reality, but because the idealistic vision of the left is built upon a foundation of fantasy.

Their losses in the political arena over the last eight years, have only punctuated the sting of Reality for them, and is now causing them to fly into fits of panic and rage, as they see their make believe world come crashing down.

Again....try to keep up....
Mr. Douglas’s original post wasn’t just a literal read of the bible but the application to current events that I questioned....
I wasn’t keeping score, you elevated it however by any reasonable standard, I haven’t lost anything....

Still happily typing my thoughts.....

Trying.... but it’s my experience that people who quote bible passages to validate position are trying to be both morally and religiously superior, not make a valid point....

To be fair, quoting scripture to support your position is a requirement. Almost always. It’s not trying to be superior. It’s trying to prove your case.

BTW, I’m saying that as someone that has argued politics and Christianity on the internet since 1997. It is a major pastime. Still.

I respectfully disagree when he simply quoted then didn’t challenge my opinion but instead challenged my faith....

Re-read his initial post viewed through that prisim

You say you were only questioning Mr Douglas's application of scripture to current events ... right. Let's go back to his original post .. where he said the bible sez they will win in the end. I mean the end just before he returns and puts a final end to the nonsense.

Seems pretty clear that he wasn't talking about current events.

Keep digging, I'm done here.

I have an aunt that supported Hitler til the day she died. “He did great things for the German people.” Her family wound up on the other side of the Berlin Wall and she still never learned.
Always amazed me what people will be led to believe.

Here's his post....

"I’m thinking of stuff like Matthew 24:21. Also, Revelation talks about the Beast reigning until the Lord comes to put him in his place. That’s the kind of thing I’m talking about. I believe it will get worse before it gets better, though we will have “respites” between battles. We are in one of those Respites right now. At least, a lot of us are."

Hmmmmmm....ignoring the truth?
Bet you were a Cruz supporter....
You just skipped the shovel step and went straight to backhoe...

Those guys, if ever in power, would do something like Mao.

They came close to it with Obama. If Hillary had won, within 2 years, Christians, in particular, would be facing mass persecution from many directions.
