A senator who says he's not in the "Never Trump" camp but has refused to endorse the GOP presidential nominee declared "some of us need to push back on these statements made by Donald Trump, I think, for the good of the party, for good of the country."
"We need to because somebody making these kind of statements shouldn't become president," Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) told MSNBC. "And I hope that he changes."
The Washington Post reported last month on tension between Trump and Flake at a Capitol Hill meeting of GOP senators. Flake introduced himself as the other senator from Arizona the one who didnt get captured and I want to talk to you about statements like that. ......
(snip)
The senator said he didn't want to speak for his colleagues on what the breaking point in their support for the nominee would be.
"I think the Muslim ban, for me, was one of those lines. His criticism of John McCain and then some of the positions he's taken. Not just the tone and tenor of the campaign, but the positions on immigration, for example. You know, just saying we're going to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it. We in Arizona need meaningful immigration reform," Flake said. "The statements made about NATO and our security arrangements with the European countries. You know, that -- we can't have that position and move ahead.'
"So, it's not just the tone and tenor of the campaign, it's the positions he's taken and for me, he's gone beyond ......

Flake - do us all a favor and off yourself.
Hey Flake, have a big heaping helping of KISS MY ASS!!!!
If I remember correctly, in 2018 (just like Cruz).
Right. And if there were any patriotic Democrats in the country, they would denounce Hillary for the good of the country. It’s not happening on the left, even though she’s a traitor and a felon. Denouncing the best candidate for the job merely because he’s blunt would be silly in comparison.
Yer fired. :^)
He’s a Flake senator alright and I denounce him for the good of MY country. It doesn’t belong to the illegals, muslim invaders and globalist sell outs.
Trump has done little wrong, these people are scum. I PRAY Trump wins.
Donald IS our Andy. Right man. Right time.
Well, he’s a flake for sure. Add his sorry ass to the database of traitors.
Screw the country, the uniparty must prevail!
Flake is a flake.
What’s wrong with Arizona? This is a fairly solid red state and it has the two of the biggest RINOs in the Senate.
It’d be one thing if they were squishes from a blue state which I get. But it’s a net loss to have RINOs from red states like Grahama in South Carolina and the two dopes from Arizona - McCain and Flake.
Flake can ESAD.
Why are Republicans so easily duped? They do the Demos bidding on almost everything. Next thing you know they’ll approve Obama’s Supreme Court nominee for the good of the country.
I’m so damn tired of seeing Flake/McCain/Graham/the one from Illinois and the girls from Maine and the idiot from Alaska sabotaging everything. I’d just as soon that they had representation from Democrats rather than Republicans that vote Dem every time it’s something important, then trash the rest of us.
Flake is a flake.

They’ve been part of never trump from the beginning. Their word means nothing. We’ll stick with the PEOPLE.
Yes, where were these people when we nominated that left of center milquetoast Romney?
“Flake may be as bad as McPain: probably is. AZ hasnt had anyone good in generations now.”
You are correct. Even Goldwater was bad at the end. The best we’ve had was Jon Kyl.
