In case anyone missed it, there’s an interesting connection between Trump and EAL:

That was the commuter air part of EAL, not the majority of the airline. EAL failed in 1991 due to idiotic management (among other things) by the guy who had sold EALS to Trump. From 1991 on, Trump’s rump of EAL (which he sold on due to various issues) was the only part of the original EAL still surviving until the unrelated EALG bought the remains of the original EAL in 2009 to resurrect it.
Trump could have leased a 737 from anyone; there are many companies who would cheerfully have cut him a deal. But he went back to the resurrected EAL for it. Interesting connection and one that shows (intentionally or not) that Trump has a long memory, I think.
Hah...I remember the Trump Shuttle now. I love a good back story.
