Last week was the pivotal week in the American election race.
Not because of seven crazy days of Donald Trump's shenanigans his continuing ugly row with Ted Cruz about their wives, the arrest of his campaign manage over an alleged assault, his refusal to back the eventual Republican nominee, and his extraordinary proposal that women who have illegal abortions should be punished (followed by a hasty, but unconvincing, u-turn).
In fact you probably missed the crucial signals hidden amid all that Republican noise.
Last week two pieces of data emerged which give us the clearest possible idea about where this crazy race is headed. And it is not good news for Mr Trump, or his two rivals for the Republican nomination.

“spiteful enough to spike her nomination and throw their convention to a floor fight.”

“What this doesnt point out is that Hillarys negatives are almost as high as Trumps.”
Let’s look under the hood here: Hillary enjoys 24/7 protection and fawning by big media. The Donald endures 24/7 of the most intense negative vitriol ever seen.
And their ‘negatives’ are roughly the same.

Agree completely.
Whoever the GOP sends Trump, Cruz, other is going to lose a huge block of voters who want to stick by their man. The party is wasting its turnout advantage.
As soon as the GOP announces a candidate the dems will unite. They’ll use fear tactics claiming Trump wants to end abortion or Cruz wants to invade Syria or Ryan wants to kill social security and the Bern supporters will all line up.
The Dem ticket is Biden/Warren, they figured that out six months ago.
And, I agree, they are going to be very hard to beat.
