DENVER, April 2 (UPI) -- Texas Sen. Ted Cruz appears positioned to take the most pledged delegates out of the Colorado Republican convention set for April 9.
The Denver Post reports a majority of delegates will seek to go to the GOP convention uncommitted to any candidate.
Colorado sends 37 delegates to the GOP convention, but will not hold a statewide vote to determine how those delegates are apportioned. The party had planned a straw poll that would have been binding for the delegates, but later canceled the vote. Instead, the party will hold a convention to determine how to apportion its 13 statewide delegates.
Another 21 delegates will be awarded based on the winner of party votes being held in each of the state's congressional districts. Those votes are being held throughout the week.
The state also sends three super delegates to the convention, who are allowed to decide for themselves who they support.
About 30 percent of the statewide delegates are seeking to back Cruz. About 7 percent of the 587 candidates to become one of the 13 statewide delegates are backing Trump. About 60 percent are running as unplugged delegates.
The Colorado process is one of the more complicated in the nation. Various factions within the Colorado Republican party put together slates, based on which candidates they support. From there, the various slates compete for votes at the party convention.
Cruz has said he plans to speak at the convention. Trump and Ohio Gov. John Kasich have not said whether they will attend the event in Colorado Springs.
So you’ve never been to a convention?
Paper.........
We’ll see about that. You Trump people may be a bit overconfident about the GOPe “flushing” Cruz. They are not as stupid as you may think.
Enjoy giving the Rino/GOPE Elites what they want...
This is a great source that I like to use: http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P16/R
They have Trump at 752. Cruz at 463. 808 available “pledge” delegates.

Dated April 2, 2016. Cruz needs to win or pack it back to Texas.

Ted Cruz needs to sweep the rest. If he loses Wisconsin, he has no clean way to win. There is no way for him to win on his own. He can only try and strip and peel at Trump’s delegate support, like a badger at night. And he needs to pray that his ‘new-found-friends’ don’t shank him in Cleveland.
“This is a trap. The following passage means that by rule, the delegates will be unbound:”
Not true. All six delegates elected today declared for and are bound to Cruz.
“The Colorada GOP has stolen the election from the conservative republicans of Colorado.”
Were you at the assemblies today that elected delegates? Rhetorical question because you couldn’t have been and say that. Conservatives totally dominated both of today’s assemblies.
Looks like Mr. Mo got off the Trump Train(wreck) and is resting comfortably on the Cruz missile.
You got that right!!!!
Ping.
21 August 2015: The Republican Executive Committee votes to cancel the traditional Presidential preference Poll at the Precinct Caucuses. National Convention delegates will not be bound to any candidate.
Proof that pot kills brain cells.
Trump doesn’t need a single delegate out of Colorado to clear 1,400 plus ( and a easy 1,237) and few more little states GOPee controlled states.
Then why do they seem so worried about the delegate situation?
Why not?
I’ve seen multiple articles about the delegate fight.
That’s not the answer. Might as well not concede any.
As you see, Trump does not need any delegates from Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, American Samoa, and none of the 54 unbound Pennsylvania delegates. Utah too LoL.

“National Convention delegates will not be bound to any candidate.”
Typical problem when following the press. National delegates are not bound by the results of a straw poll. So to that extent, the article is right.
However, all delegate candidates had the choice, when they signed up to run for national delegate, to be bound or unbound. The six who were elected today elected to be bound to Cruz. And they were elected as bound Cruz delegates.
I am know five of the six folks who won delegate spots in CO today. Two of them are close personal friends and one of them has had me on his radio show several times. Plus, I ran the credentialing for my county in one of the assemblies today where three of them were elected.
So it’s possible that I’m wrong and the news article is right about this. But its not very likely.
