Cruz: At A Contested Convention Rubio, Kasich Delegates Will Come To Us Not Trump
Breitbart ^ | April 1, 2016 | Pam Key

Posted on 04/01/2016 9:57:58 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Friday on Fox New Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said if no candidate gets the 1,237 delegates needed to secure the nomination by the Republican convention this summer than at a contested convention, the Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) delegates will come to him, not Donald Trump.

Cruz said, “The only way to win the Republican nomination is to earn a majority of the delegates and that is what I believe we’re going to do, either in the states leading up to the convention, or if we get to the convention. One of the easiest ways to understand why we are in such a strong position in the convention is if Donald and I both have a ton of delegates, the question then becomes where do the Rubio delegates go? Where do the Kasich delegates go? I believe the overwhelming majority of them come to us and we will win a majority of the delegates who have been elected by the people and will win the nomination.”

You are as delusional as Cruz is. It is a simple choice: Trump or GOPe.

Like Yoda says, “Do or do not. There is no try.” All Cruz can do is elect Ryan or Yeb. He cannot “try” to elderly t himself.

Yes, Cruz is a Hillary supporter, because he can ensure the GOOe gets nominated.

“Pennsylvania Supreme Court affirms Cruz’s eligibility to be president”

Wonderful Ted can be president of Pennsylvania!

If Trump cannot get to 1237 before the convention, he has no chance.

If Trump and Cruz are not on the second ballot, there will be a convention revolution.

“Cruz is not an NBC, and we’ll find that out when the crats press it on his nomination.”

Yeah, those stupid courts again. If Cruz wasn’t eligible, the RNC would have stopped Cruz a year ago.

Ted Cruz will not even ever be close to being the nominee

First he is unelectable

Scandals waiting

Finally they are using him but still hate him

If the GOP nominee used Democrat tricks to grab the nomination, then yes, there are a lot of us who will either stay home or write in Trump.

whats the difference between Hillary and Cruz and his new GOPe friends? Not much.

Cruz has a shot and is willing to go all in.

Trump has a better shot, though, in that if he falls short, he only needs delegates from one of the two, whereas Cruz would need delegates from both of them.

And both candidates have some veto power over the other, in that neither candidate can win without the willing support of the other’s supporters. If there is any blatant dirty dealing, they aren’t going to get it. Both candidates have said as much, their earlier pledges of automatic support have been withdrawn from both sides.

So while its guaranteed to get tough between now and the end, both sides need to be able to walk it back to win the blessing of the other, if either is to win. If either side does anything that can’t be “walked back”, they’ve just handed the election to Hillary.

I see that the contested election means a win win for the GOPe, since they don’t want Cruz or Trump, they’d rather go with a loss in 16 to maintain their cushy uniparty grafting.

I like how Cruz tells Kasich to drop out because he can’t win yet it is okay for him to stay in force a contested convention. A contested convention that no voters want.

Typical politician. Good for ye, but not for me.

That is what I thought too. But the RNC came out and said that was a temporary rule that applied only to 2012.

What kind of party determines the rules after the primary has been fought?

As I read it a Commonwealth judge ruled and the state Supreme Court denied to hear an appeal. They didn’t rule. Do you have another link to clearer information?

I do think that Cruz won’t be ruled on because it will open the Obama can of worms. But the issues needs to be clarified before a Muslim terrorist born to a traitorous American mother runs in the future.

A vote for Scruz is a vote for the GOPee’s Lyin’ Ryan on the 2nd ballot.

"if Donald Trump has the vast majority of votes from the millions of voters across then nation then he should be nominatated"

Of course he doesn't have the vast majority of votes and won't by the time it's done.

In other words, you’d cast a vote for the DEM nominee instead of helping the GOP win.

Not my fault Cruz can't beat Hillary. I'll still write in TRUMP if Cruz is the nominee. The GOPe will probably not let TRUMP or Cruz be the nominee.

Trump isn't getting the vast majority at this point nor is he getting a majority.

Oh yes he is.

LOL.

37.11% of the vote doesn't equal a "vast majority", nor does it equal a "majority".

Choosing either Trump or Cruz at a contested convention would be legitimate - if the Trump and Cruz delegates remained loyal to their nominees and no delegates from either group defected.

Exactly.

Okay. Document 1237 delegates who will be loyal to the GOPe after the first round and I will change my mind.

Else, you are delusional.
