Ted Cruz made women the focus of his campaigning in Wisconsin, unveiling a Women for Cruz coalition on a day in which his main rival in the GOP presidential race struggled to communicate clearly his position on whether women should be punished for obtaining an abortion should the procedure become outlawed.
"Trump hardly came up at the (Cruz) event, but the subtext was clear," wrote the Tribune's Patrick Svitek. "The billionaire's attacks on Heidi Cruz, which began last week in response to ad from an anti-Trump group that featured the billionaire's wife, have drawn attention to his history of sexist and misogynistic comments as well as his current struggles to gain traction among female voters."
Cruz is focusing efforts this week on Wisconsin, which votes next week. His push to win over women voters comes as the Texas senator is opening up a gap between him and Trump in support from women. Svitek reported that a new Marquette University School of Law poll shows Cruz with a 10-point lead over Trump among Republican primary voters. Among women, that lead stretches to 15 points....

Says the guy who started here last month!
This is Cruz-smear Central. Watch out for the foam that flies off of their mouths!
If Cruz is nominated on a platform of feminist victimology, how is he going to run against Our Supreme National Female Victim?
Where do you get “female victimology” from this piece?
Trump is a businessman, motivated for success.
Cruz is just another ivy league lawyer.
We already have too many lawyers in politics, none of whom understand economics. And our country is in deep debt.
With the stories about Cruz recently, I do not see how he widens his lead among women.
“With the stories about Cruz recently, I do not see how he widens his lead among women.”
It may be that he isn’t adding more women to his voting rolls so much as Trump is losing them from his.
Is that person still alive?
And if I remember correctly, the business he usually did involved sliding money to pols.
“Which is so fierce against Cruz who I thought was most everything the members of this forum wanted pre-trump.”
Setting aside the fact that he hides his citizenship verification papers, you mean his VOTES for TPA, his VOTE for the Corker bill, his call for a 500% increase in H1-B visas, his call for increased immigration, etc., you mean things like that?
“Boy, that tabloid thing sure took the wind out of his sails, didn’t it? Hahahaha!”
Ah, but it won’t stop the ‘pettes in their clinging for the faintest hope that it’s all true. They wait breathlessly for the next Roger Simon announcement or “breaking story” from “conservative treehouse.”
“Dont think it will work; Cruz is too much like the ex-husband....”
Meanwhile,Trump IS the ex-husband.
Go check, I'll wait.

If you don’t want to vote for Cruz because he’s not 100% what you want that’s your decision. However, you have vastly more in agreement with him if you are conservative than not. But Trump isn’t 100% what conservatives want either. And don’t forget Trump has said things in the past which contradict what he says today. You really want to trust him?
1) After the 2012 election Trump questioned how you would deport illegal aliens. Two years prior he called many of them great workers.
2) Trump was a registered democrat for most of the last decade.
3) Trump gave money to liberal politicians.
4) In the past Trump was for a single payer health care system.
5) Trump said he won’t touch entitlements.
6) Trump says he is against same sex marriage, but says it’s the law of the land. He told George Teakei that he’d gone to same sex wedding and found it to be beautiful
7) He says he’s against abortion now. In 1999 he said he was very pro-choice.
There are more things I could cite. But face it....you like Trump’s schtick. For whatever reason it appeals to you and you so desperately want to believe he will make things better you will ignore logic. Go ahead and slam Cruz for the reasons you said. But try to be fair and slam Trump too.
I respect your right to voice your opinion, but was it necessary to your message to call Trump supporters brain dead? I thought people were going to lessen the personal attacks on both sides.
That's a trap set by the media. Don't fall for it. The media wants you to believe that a Republican can only win in states won by Republicans in the last three elections and there are only three or four "battleground" states "in play". That's nonsense. Conservatives are the dominant plurality across the US. A principled conservative can win anywhere. Vast groups of blacks, Hispanics, women, college students, even Yankees, and any other minority the media creates will vote principled conservative when given a candidate who believes it.
Brain dead may be offensive. But at the moment a better term for conservative Trump supporters fail me. His positions have changed too much to trust him. I have been reading what members on this site have been saying for a long time. The gist is the same every time. Republicans screw us over when they are in power. Republicans don’t do anything to stop democrats from screwing us over when we have divided government.
So the answer is to vote for a guy that donated money Hillary several times? The answer is to vote for a guy that said he was very pro choice? The answer is to vote for a guy that is quick on slogans, less on specifics? The answer is to trust what the man says today, is true, even when so many of those things contradict what he said in the past?
Maybe brain dead isn’t the best term. I’m open to suggestions for a better one.
Try just saying what you think about Trump and not insulting his supporters. We don’t see things the way you do and we are amazed that you don’t see Cruz has now become full establishment IN OUR OPINION. Differing opinions among people who at least love America.
Both sides could cool the insults. I don’t think insults here have changed anyone’s opinions. Except trolls who play us. Facts might be viewed differently.
Yeah, but Trump’s ex-wives are supporting his run for President.
