A super-PAC backing Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Thursday released a new television ad bashing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) less than one week before Wisconsins GOP presidential primary.
Great America PACs ad, first reported by CNN, accuses Cruz of expanding amnesty for illegal immigrants and softness toward dangerous Syrian refugees.
I want to protect my family, a woman said in the spot, appearing in a kitchen with two children. Paris, San Bernardino and now Brussels? she asked, citing recent terrorist attacks. "I want a president that will keep us safe. We need to control our borders and stop letting in dangerous people. Trump will do that.
And Ted Cruz? He wanted to let in more Syrian refugees and give more amnesty to illegal immigrants. That wont protect my family. Donald Trump will.
CNN on Thursday reported that the commercial will run both nationwide and across Wisconsin before its critical voting contest next week.
We have seen such a huge groundswell of Americans that want to help grow the movement around the Trump campaign that we felt compelled to lay the groundwork for the outside effort Republicans will need to win the White House and lengthen Mr. Trumps coattails to protect our majorities in Congress, said Jesse Benton, a spokesman for the group.
Cruz leads Trump by 3 percentage points before Wisconsins voting contest next Tuesday, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls.
Trump remains the GOP front-runner nationwide, owning a nearly 11-point lead over Cruz and Gov. John Kasich (R-Ohio).
Not disturbed, just asking you the question.
Are you saying Cruz is not taking money for promises from Super PACs?
“Super PAC” by itself doesn’t mean diddly from what I can tell - it’s the agreement between the PAC and the candidate, if any, that matters.
I believe that has been a favorite hammer that the trump people have used against Cruz, Rubio, Bush and anyone else not named trump.
Hammer meets thumb.
How appropriate.
Even the Leftys over at Mother Jones don’t buy this PAC’s claim that it is connected to or donates to Trump:

A newly formed political action committee is using Donald Trump’s name and trademarked slogan”Make America Great Again”in an unusual fundraising ploy. The group, the Great America PAC, has no connection to the Trump campaign, but it has been blasting out emails soliciting donations that it claims will be channeled directly to Team Trump. In a recent email, the PAC implored donors to help “build a grassroots wall of support around Donald Trump by chipping in at least $5 to have your name placed on his official FEC report by signing the ‘I Support Donald Trump’ petition.” On the PAC’s website, donors are asked to donate between $5 and $1,000.
The website notes that the first $5 of each donation will be sent to the Trump campaign. And Dan Backer, the group’s treasurer, tells Mother Jones that this money is indeed “earmarked” for Trump. What happens to the rest of the money, for any donations greater than $5, is not clear. The email does promise to use money the group raises to build a vaguely described grassroots operation that will help support Trump. But there’s no telling how much of the money gathered by this Trumpy PAC will directly fund pro-Trump activities.
The fundraising email is signed by Amy Kremer, a former chairman of the Tea Party Express. Kremer did not respond to a request for comment.
A recipient of the email might be forgiven for assuming it comes from an official Trump-approved outfit. The website prominently features the official Trump slogan: “Make America Great Again.” And there may be a problem with that. Trump trademarked that phrase for the purposes of “political campaign services, namely, promoting public awareness of Donald J. Trump as a candidate for public office; providing online information regarding political issues and the 2016 presidential election;” and for “fundraising in the field of politics.” The Trump campaign did not respond to a request for comment.
Asked about the PAC’s use of the trademarked phrase, Backer, a Virginia-based attorney who has helped set up a number of conservative-oriented PACs that capitalize on current events, said the phrase is a quote from Ronald Reagan
If Cruz were malleable like you seem to think, why did he stand firm on ethanol in Iowa and Obamacare in the senate?
Surely you jest. Cruz boogers don’t understand anything when hit with the truth - they can’t handle it.
2DV, you’ve crossed over to the dark side. Candidates have no control at all over super pacs, and you know it. Let’s cut out the crap. If Cruz prevents Trump from reaching 1,237 he WILL STILL NOT BE THE NOMINEE. Cruz supporters at this point have lost their minds.
What’s relevant here is that Cruz is funded by PAC and outside sources and Trump is not, PAC or not. Seems a little more fair to put it like that I would say.
Trump takes donations, don’t kid yourself.
Where has this explanation been by Trump supporters about Cruz super PACS over the last nine months?
Proof? He says he doesn’t.
Are you saying Cruz is not taking money from PACs? I don’t think there’s any question about that is there?
Taking money from PAC's? What do you mean? It's illegal for a candidate to be connected to a PAC. Didn't you just go through that explanation?
The only ones here claiming that Trump “sicced the NE on anyone” are the fibbing CRuzers.
Mistakes happen.

There’s a donate section on his website. Asks for credit card info and all that.
Just hit abuse on yourself and ask to have it removed.
Trump has sent letters to all super pacs they could find telling them to disband, the he doesn’t need their help.
If people ignore him what is he supposed to do?
Good. Maybe it can run deceitful Heidi pics and then Trump can rightfully claim he has no control over it.
LOL. A+
