An appeal to Trump and Cruz supporters
American Thinker ^ | March 28, 2016 | Lee Cary

We must resist the Socialist Democrats’ effort to forge, with the MSM’s aid, an irreparable split between us.

Full disclosure: I voted for Cruz in the Texas primary. If Trump is the GOP nominee, I’ll vote for him in November.

I will not approach, in either case, the voting booth as I voted for McRomney, with a pinched nose. But with zeal. If my car won’t start, I’ll walk to the polling booth – only because I’m too old to run.

Today, some Trump supporters are feeling surrounded by three camps: one from the GOPe’s Machiavellian efforts to find a third way other than Trump or Cruz; by Slithery Hillary’s sustained but weakening campaign, inevitably touted by rigged polling; and by that Anglo army of Comrade Bernie supporters made up of aging Democrat Socialists aligned with college-aged snowflakes who were never taught the definition and history of socialism by the progressive academies of “higher education.”

Meanwhile, for Trump and Cruz, the other is the immediate adversary – as it should be at this point. But we will all pass this point.

As the interim mud wrestling between the two leading Republican candidates continues, let’s remember we share a serious and common adversary who will, eventually, require us to unite: the final POTUS candidate of the Democrat Socialist Party....

If Trump is robbed of the nomination by GOPe dirty tricks/rules I will support Trump running as a independent.

I 100% agree hillary must never be in the WH, but Teb belongs in a rubber room and I can’t be believe anyone is still fooled by him.

It would take an awfully large clothespin to hold my nose closed enough to vote for Trump.

So you’ll let Hillary take office instead of Cruz or another conservative?

If Cruz is forced out, the same states that apportioned Rubio's delegates to Cruz will have to apportion Cruz's delegates to Trump. That would practically guarantee that Trump gets 1,237.

The only way I could support Trump is if he is denied the nomination while having the most delegates. Adhering to the rule of law and the will of the people is far more important a cause than being against Trump.

Trump doesn’t have nearly enough liquid assets to run an independent campaign. Not going to happen.

The “most” or enough to qualify. They're not necessarily the same thing.

It will astound and astonish me to my last day why Ted Cruz did not align himself with Donald Trump early on for a wonderful long-term run.
It could have been four or eight years of President Trump (likely four, by virtue of age) followed by another four or eight years of President Cruz.

TRUMP poisoned the well. I’ll write in Cruz, like I’ve been telling the RNC for over a year. I briefly considered Trump but his stupidity and antics changed all that.

Sorry Vet, but look at this thread and you can see what is going to happen. This open and deep feud is not going away every statement about either candidates unfitness is countered by the other-side feeling the exact same way.

All Bernie or Hillary need do is feed the feud by providing facts and rumors as to what one side or the other did and the knives will be out and the win will be theirs and there isn’t a damn thing that will stop it. At this point the best we can hope for is to hold the House and the Senate and throw the local rascals out and then hope that they grow a backbone.

The money would pour in from across the country to stop the GOPe traitors and to support the only one who could stop hilliary.

The money is “pouring in” to Bernie Sanders in amazing amounts, yet he’s still losing.

I’m for Trump. For the most part though, I have refrained from getting personal. Not that I haven’t gotten angery of course. My anger is mostly geared towards the GOPe.

These are passionate times.

Cruz started out my number one. Now he’s number two. And since, Bush, Beck, and others have come into the mix, I find it difficult to keep him at number two.

And there really aren’t any other contenders for that spot.

If the GOPe screws us at the convention, I’ll never vote for anyone of them, ever again.

Do you have the same response for those on the thread who state they won’t vote for Cruz if he’s the nom?

I would like to point out to you I-will-never-vote-for-Trump-haters, if it were not for Donald Trump, you would be holding your nose and voting for Jeb Bush. Truth is, unless you vote for Trump if your primary has not happened yet, and he does not get the delegates he needs, you will be voting for Jeb or Romney. It seems you did not learn anything from the primaries of 2012, did you?
