Delegates discuss contacting other campaigns for advice, lack of organisation and the disappearance of state chair Kent Gray during anxious conference call
Illinois delegates elected to represent Donald Trump have voiced fears about chaotic organisation and a lack of leadership in their state as Republicans prepare for what could be the first contested convention in decades.
During a torturous two-hour conference call on Thursday night, the delegates struggled to figure out how to help the frontrunner at the Republican National Convention in July, wondering how best to contact the campaign in Wisconsin for tips.
Anxiety was mounting throughout the conference call about the lack of organization in the Land of Lincoln for Trump. As one person said "There is no Trump team in Illinois, it's us", a statement echoed by pro-Trump activist Doug Ibendahl when he pointed out on the call "we don't have any leader, it's just us."
The Guardian understands the delegates also tried to deal with the mysterious disappearance of former Trump state chair Kent Gray from the campaign's operations. Before leaving the campaign, Gray had tried to keep rival campaigns from making the ballot in Illinois but failed because he had not filed the paperwork in a timely manner....

Ted Cruz needs to stand down.
Trump for president.
It will be simpler when it comes down to Trump vs. Kasich.
That should be the case in another week or so.

I was afraid something like this would happen. Being born wealthy - or even becoming a celebrity - is not the same as leadership.
And, too, it is not something that can be leased or purchased like a bride.
Uh-huh. LOL
The problem- left or right, male or female - is that an ego big enough to run for POTUS has to be capable of some pretty serious self delusion. You just can’t play in that league without a sense of self and mission that keeps going no matter the facts and circumstances. If you aren’t predisposed to fighting on no matter what anybody says you are in the wrong line of business.
I don’t think the Cuban Mistress Crisis is going away. And not a moment too soon. Something has to happen to save otherwise decent human beings like you from selling your souls to support some arrogant jackass working to steal every delegate behind the scenes in the most underhanded way possible.
Also known as following the rules.
The story is a malicious lie of a bully who feels threatened by Ted Cruz
Love your posts !
Thank you.
However you need to rationalize it. I believe that Trump is a far better choice than Cruz to be the nominee, but if it ever came down to those kinds of tactics, I’d be rethinking things. I can’t imagine ever waking up one day and finding myself supporting that kind of deceitful crap.
The video is coming this week and there is apparently more. We know at least some of it is true. If ANY of it is true, Cruz is screwed and we all know it.
” some arrogant jackass working to steal every delegate behind the scenes”
******
Steal? How? By following the rules? Then it isn’t stealing. It means The Donald is getting outsmarted.
Deceitful? Convincing people to vote for you over your opponents? That’s what elections are.
No, PEOPLE already voted. Cruz is using smoky back rooms to further his ends. That’s hardly the same thing and you know it. This is stupid that we even are having this conversation. Seriously, you guys need to check yourselves.
Why is Trump apparently unable to put together a decently-competent campaign organization?
No experience campaigning. Not only did Cruz run an almost miraculous come-from-behind Senate race that’ll be studied for a hundred years, he has been researching this stuff since he was 12.
Like every playground bully, Trump thinks he can skate by talking bad and making threats. Smart is for them guys with pens in the shirt pockets.
One of the things the Trumpsters like to tout is “he’s not a politician”. Well he’s not a “successful politician” considering this is his 3rd run for POTUS.
