It’s possible and it’s worth a lot of effort by him to try.
Beating either Trump or Kasich there would be great for the campaign- even if he didn’t win.
Winning, of course, would be fantastic.

1. Cruz hasn't used the candidate x line is dropping out in a while, he could use that on Kasich.
2. He could send voter violations to all Ohio voters insisting that they better vote for Cruz. Hey it worked in Iowa and both states have 4 letters.
3. He can saturate the airways with negative ads, while Rubot claims Trump has made the campaign vulgar.
4. He can borrow the busses that Hillary uses to transport voters into Ohio from NY.

Don’t see it on the ground here in NE Ohio. I can’t speak for Southern Ohio though. It completely feels like a Trump-Kasich race here.
