5 Ways the Media Is Gravely Misreading South Carolina's Democratic Primary Results
The Huffington Post's Huffpost Politics The Blog ^ | February 28, 2016 | Professor Seth Abramson

Bernie Sanders, having just finished two rallies in Texas with crowds larger than Hillary Clinton could ever dream of -- a 10,000-person rally in Austin and an 8,000-person one in Dallas -- called Clinton to concede the South Carolina primary and got on a plane bound for Minnesota, a state whose Super Tuesday vote the media hasn't bothered to poll, but which Bernie Sanders is likely to win. If he listened to any of the coverage of his dramatic defeat in the Palmetto State while en-route to Rochester, he probably wondered at its accuracy and cogency. Here's five reasons he'd be right:

1. In South Carolina, Sanders won many of the groups that will matter in the general election, making it puzzling that the media would declare Saturday's primary results solid proof of Clinton's viability in November.

Specifically, Sanders won independents in South Carolina by 7 points, voters under 30 by 8 points, first-time primary voters by 26 points, white men by 12 points, and -- while losing the total vote by a staggering 47.5% -- managed to lose on the question of honesty and trustworthiness by only 2%.

If the future health of a political party didn't in any sense depend on its courtship of independent voters, young voters, new voters, or white males, the size of Clinton's spread in South Carolina would indeed have been an across-the-board endorsement of her candidacy. Instead, it somehow emphasized Sanders' vaguely Obama-like qualities in the midst of an election result so horrid for Sanders that we've rarely before seen its like in a two-candidate tilt whose national polling is essentially tied....

Hillary fools a lot of people, esp. blacks, with her “I’m so tired” schtick used to cover her ignorance and Marxist tendencies.

Sanders is honest in that he is a “socialist” but he lies about being a hardcore Marxist (You can only legally call him a communist if he belongs to a “communist” party - i.e. membership (ex. Communist Party USA, Revolutionary Communist Party, Communist Workers Party (somewhat in decay), Progressive Labor Party, an avowed Marxist-Leninist Maoist party with a membership, etc).

However, he is just another “con man” and “com-man”, a Marxist ideology hustler for the ignorance, under-educated, guilt-ridden (i.e. white liberals), and social “I want free things” parasites (which can cover all of the above.

The Democrat convention, is Hillary allows it to take place as formatted, is going to be a great “killing box” of one Marxist against another.

It will also be a great expose’ of the Marxist/communist/progressive/socialist dominance of the Democrat Party, and that will scare the crap out of some undecided who may say, “I’ll take a conservative American, even Trump, over two old reds and fools”. I HOPE!

He was in the top 2, which is as good as a win if you ask Cruz or Rubio.
