GOP voters are in a fighting mood. They aren't much interested in business-as-usual, political niceties, or even conservative purity. They want someone who will take it to Washington--someone who will go there and fight for change.
Unfortunately for the rest of the Republican field, the candidate who voters overwhelmingly think will bring change to Washington is Donald Trump. South Carolina exit polling found that, among the large subsection of GOP voters who most want a candidate who "can bring change," a whopping 45 percent supported Trump, compared with only 19 percent for Ted Cruz and 16 percent for Marco Rubio.
This isn't perhaps too much of a concern for Rubio, who is the electability/establishment candidate. It's a huge concern, however, for Cruz, who has to be the "change" candidate, leaving Trump to be the mad-as-hell/outsider candidate. If Trump is both the outsider candidate and the change candidate, then Cruz is sunk....

Tell more lies and half truths! Yeah, that will do it!
If we had some ham, we could have ham and eggs, if we had some eggs.
How do these big thinkers believe they can get from Point A to Point B? Something is missing in this equation.
I just do not see the roadmap.
With Trump having to work against 16 other people at one point, it should get interesting as he focus fires on Hillary.
5 plus months of hammering that woman.
Let's face it, Cruz would probably be too much of a gentleman to take the gloves of with her and Rubio's attack dog routine would fail.
Rubio may have had some valid points last night but the way he puked them out in such rapid fashion and turned the debate into middle school kill the guy with the ball was just awful.
There is no way in hell Cruz can win. He is dead meat.
Yep, Trump killed a sure thing, Trump/Cruz, because he’s intellectually intimidated by Cruz. Not a sure thing for DT anymore, way to go!
Love your concise way with words ;-)
If Cruz could get a new personality, I think he could win.
Are you Canadian too?
Cruz needs to paint Rubio as Obuma’s brown brother and push that RINO into third place finishes. I think that Cruz made a major strategic error by giving Rubio his blessing. I’m thinking that endorsement was the result of lunatic Beck whispering into his ear.
It’s simple. If Trump had not run, Cruz would be in the driver’s seat. Hence, the anger.
No, I have never been there.
I’ve been to Scotland, though.
Two types of Hope and Change:
Trump will bring in a new set of players (Those with New Jersey values, apparently). But Trump will not change the nature of the game. It will still be lobbyists and tsaxpayer funded special interests setting the agenda.
Cruz will change the nature of the game. He will throw out the money changers. He wont change ownership of the casino. He will incentivize people to create real businesses that produce useful products and services.
You Trumpsters really give me a giggle. Ted’s in it until the end. What are you guys gonna do when Trump doesnt get the delegates he needs to take the nom? CRUZ 2016!
Rubio’s phony smile was the most irritating and that woman screaming in the audience for Rubio..
Geez, no wonder your candidate is losing so badly.
LOL Guess it’s all those years of hunting. When the animal is on the ground, eyes glazed, and tongue hanging out, it’s truly Dead Meat! Somehow the metaphor sure fits Cruz.:>)
Who is my candidate? I'm here to support the U.S.?
