Jeez, LS, I would think that as an historian, you would be a little more neutral about the outcome of this primary. Why are you so invested in one candidate?

Maybe because as a historian I see the future of the country at stake. I think Cruz and even Rubio (for the most part) have the right goals, ambitions-—but I think they are incapable of even slightly deviating the nation’s course, let alone turning it around.

Neither has the force of personality, the celebrity status, the ability to go over the heads of the DC political class or the independence from the donors to make substantive change.

And if we don’t do it now, it likely won’t ever get done.
