I supported the Iraq invasion, not because I gave a damn about about WMDs, but because I wanted fear put into the hearts of the Muslim world and Hussein was a POS anyway. However, my support began to die for a few reasons: 1) silly rules of engagement, 2) Bush calling Islam a “religion of peace”, 3) a complete lack of a plan for after we took out Hussein. Even just leaving would have been a plan, but Bush decided to lollygag in Irag for years building schools and playgrounds while our guys got shot and blown up. Oh, and let’s not forget 4) Bush simply REFUSED to defend the invasion, ever, allowing the Left to stack talking point upon talking point against Republicans until Obama or some other Marxist a-hole became inevitable.

So, what we learn is that we had to hit Muslims as hard as Saddam and Khaddafi were.

However, my support began to die for a few reasons:

Yep. The same with me. Everything you said was spot on.

No offense to you, but my rule of thumb is that I don't give any credibility to "armchair quarterbacks" who support a military campaign where someone else's lives are at risk, but not their own.

The fact that this description would likely apply to every @sshole inside the Beltway who orchestrated the invasion is what set me off back in 2003.
