Christians Should Be Celebrating Ted Cruz's New Hampshire 'Win'
Charisma Magazine's Charisma Caucus ^ | February 12, 2016 | Rev. Cannon Mark A. Pearson

Either it was a most unusual party or else it was a most unusual testimony time. I'm referring to a Tuesday evening event at a banquet hall in Hollis, New Hampshire. What made the event most unusual is that the event was both a party and a testimony time.

I'm speaking of the post-election event where many of us gathered to celebrate the strong showing of Ted Cruz in the New Hampshire primary.

Several hundred campaign workers gathered among hundreds of boxes of pizza and dozens of TV cameras to celebrate Cruz's strong third-place finish. Why celebrate third? Because New Hampshire is the most unlikely place for such a man as Ted Cruz to do well. I know. I've lived either here or in adjacent Massachusetts most of my life. Most New Hampshire Republicans are not conservative. Sometimes it's hard to think of them as Republicans at all. And Christians, for the most part, are not evangelical, charismatic or Pentecostal. We are the "un-Bible Belt."

And yet, Ted did so well.

One reason he did is that during the months of whistle stops and town halls, voters discovered Ted is a man of both conviction and compassion. Those who watched the various debates or viewed his television ads saw the brilliant thinker and one-time champion college debater. Too often, though, they were left wondering if Ted really cared about individuals....

The picture posted in this thread said it was a Ted Cruz rally which isn’t true, it’s just an event that he was invited to.

Trump wasn’t there, because he was at his own rally in Tampa.

Ok....whatever you say...no point in trying to get through to Trumpster fans....bottom line your guy wasn’t there with the rest of the candidates. And this was a Christian Concert featuring the candidates to kick it off...

Good grief everything has to be explained to you guys because you simply don’t pay attention to what’s really going on.

Trump jumped the gun on this one, as he so often does.....it’s a Christian concert featuring the Presidential Candidates as it’s kick off.....Trump can dangle any carrot in front of you guys and you chomp at the bit for it...no matter what it is....

You’re being more than a little dishonest there, pal.

The Christian Rock concert was at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, that’s where the picture of the huge crowd was taken. The Faith and Family Presidential Forum was a separate event held in the afternoon at the Founders Memorial Auditorium at Bob Jones University. That facility seats about 6,500.

The picture posted on this thread claims that it is a Ted Cruz rally, which it wasn’t.

Trump wasn’t there, not because he was “out of the loop,” he was staging his own rally in Tampa, which drew about 12,000 to see him, not listen to a concert.

Carolina Panthers fans should be celebrating their Super Bowl win.

{yawn)

I wouldn’t get too excited about my candidate winning one of the smallest, least conservative, inconsequential northeastern states.

Then those same Christians will also be upset that he distanced his campaign from being run as a theocracy....

So many stories/opinions out there that the truth becomes blurred at best and irrelevant in the big picture because the big picture is hiding among the opinions and constant hit pieces one way or the other.

I can understand a polarization between Cruz fans and Trump fans but we do ourselves no favors trying to go scorched earth on one and 'walks on water" with the other (both ways).

No wonder we keep losing - Pogo was right.

I would want my candidate to win as many states as they could...that’s the objective, isn’t it?
