VERO BEACH -- Des Moines Republicans who vote for Ted Cruz on Feb. 1 might have been encouraged by Vero Beach residents Tim and Laura Zorc to back the Texas senator's presidential bid.

The Zorcs, a politically active family who spent a snowy December holiday break bunking with scores of campaign volunteers, can watch the Iowa caucus results knowing their canvassing in the bitter cold helped deliver votes that might win Cruz the state in a razor-sharp primary with GOP rival Donald Trump.

"I think we helped inspire and motivate other volunteers and also people who worked on the campaign," said Laura Zorc, 44, whose family -- Tim, 55, and children Nicholas, 12; Abby, 10, and Chandler, 7 -- drove through rain, hail and a tornado to arrive in Iowa Dec. 20 for a two-week stay at Camp Cruz for President.

"It was definitely inspiring that we went up there and worked on this," Laura Zorc added. "And it was nice having the kids around because it kept the perspective; it wasn't all work."(continued)

Commissioner Zorc files bankruptcy amid sour business deal

Mar 20, 2014 INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Still reeling from what he describes as a bitterly soured business venture, Indian River County Commissioner Tim Zorc filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy elast week in federal court....

Zorc was criticized when he ran for office in 2012 because he still listed all the money he felt he was owed and still expected to receive from his business deals on his financial disclosure paperwork as on-paper assets or receivables.-

That made his personal financial picture appear far better than if he’d given up all hope of collecting.

Mechling stands by what he said at the time, that there were no assets available that could have paid those receivables, but he won’t go so far as to say Zorc’s financial disclosure amounted to deliberate deception.

“Tim never came to me or Steve my partner and said look I’m going to run for County Commission and have to file this financial report and what do you think is the worth of the company. Never was discussed, never had a chat,” Mechling said. “I’m sure he got with an accountant or somebody when he filled this information out. I never talked to Tim and Tim never talked to me on that and I don’t know, maybe he thought there were more resources than there were.”.... more at link.

Awarded the Navy Commendation Medal for developing and programming the first successfully sea-tested FLIT algorithm while on temporary duty with the Commander, Submarine Development Group Two, in 1970. Developed an in depth understanding of Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT) as Sonar Officer and Weapons Officer aboard the nuclear fast attack submarine USS TREPANG (SSN674), on three special operations and a Mediterranean deployment. As Officer of the Deck (OOD) developed practical experience in submarine related Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) operations. Served one month temporary duty at Submarine Group 8 in Naples during the “October War” in 1973, arriving two weeks after the war started. Assigned to write the “Patrol Report” for Submarine Group 8 from the message traffic. Assigned as “Submarine Liaison Officer” to CTF 69 for one week aboard USS Independence (CVA 62).

1974 - 1979: U. S. Naval Underwater Systems Center
Continued to keep abreast of submarine and torpedo related ACINT and SIGINT threats and systems while providing software technical direction and computer programming for the Fire Control System Mk 113 Mod 10 and FCS Mk 117 in Ultra-32 and CMS-2Y.

1988 - 1993: The MITRE Corporation
Developed in depth familiarity with the Naval Space Master Plan, C4I Architecture, TENCAP, Space Intelligence Operations, NAVSPASUR functions as Lead Engineer and Member of the Technical Staff at the MITRE Corporation site provided management consulting to the Naval Space Command in Dahlgren, Virginia. Completed the Joint Space Intelligence/Operations Course, X30ZP8000-000 with a 4.0 average.

1996 - 1998: Argon ST (AKA: SenSyTech; ST Research Corporation), Newington, VA
Participated in the development, construction and installation of SIGINT systems as Director of Software Engineering. Products included ESM / ELINT Threat Warning and Intercept Receiver-Processor systems using High Probability of Intercept (HPI) technology of the U.S. Navy, and INMARSAT satellite communications intercept equipment for the Republic of Turkey. Spent 2 1/2 months in Turkey the INMARSAT system.

2002 - 2005: BAE SYSTEMS and SAIC at MCIA Quantico, VA
Became familiar with Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Counter Intelligence/Human Intelligence (CI/HUMINT), and General Military Intelligence (GMI) operations as the senior software engineer on project to assist Marine Corp Intelligence Activity (MCIA) convert its static web page site into an Oracle 9I Application Server portal and implement digital production of intelligence products using several candidate systems including the Intelligence Community Markup Language (ICML) version of Arbortext Epic Editor and DIA’s Intelligence Production Environment (IPE). Received a Letter of Appreciation from Commander, Marine Corps Intelligence Activity for most recent effort supporting MCIA’s Tribal Studies of Al Anbar Province Production Requirement. After initial success of Tribal Studies database, an MCIA Cultural Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield (IPB) initiative was started to add more geo-location capabilities to the database by interfacing it with the Marine Corps Command Control Personal Computer (C2PC) program.

2005 - 2006: SAIC
Developed a broad understanding of GEOINT related systems and data models while assigned as technical lead for SAIC support to the US Army Corps of Engineers Topographic Engineering Center (TEC) at Fort Belvior, VA for both the Joint Geospatial Enterprise Services Science and Technology (JGES S&T) program, and the CI/HUMINT Advanced Modernization Program / Intelligence Operations Now (CHAMPION) Spiral 0 program. Prepared and delivered TEC’s presentation at the 2005 DGInet User’s Conference. Took the lead and developed a data-driven approach to data engineering and data harmonization efforts. This approach, started at MCIA, consists of capturing structural information about interfacing databases in database tables, thus making it possible to modify the attributes of features in the field and promulgating the structural modification along the same channels used to transfer changes in the data.

2006 - 2014: Data Systems & Technology, Inc.
Continuing to develop the data-driven approach to data engineering in support of joint interoperability testing efforts at the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) related to the Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS), Data Engineering Baseline System (DEBS), Universal Phase History Data (UPHD), National Imagery Transfer Format Standard (NITFS), Sensor Model Language (SensorML), and Transducer Markup Language (TML).

Looks like old Ted is a real piker, he needs 3 more bankruptcies to catch up to Trump. Of course Trump had GREAT bankruptcies that ran into the tens of millions not some piddling one like Ted.
