Dozens of Ted Cruz supporters gathered in a stairwell of a drab dormitory on a recent subfreezing morning, ready for their marching orders.
"What is our purpose today?" bellowed Cruz campaign staffer Ken Brolin, 64.
"Find undecided voters!" the volunteers replied in unison, before bundling up in scarves, snow boots and mittens, and marching out into the early morning light, ready to knock on hundreds of Iowans' doors.
Welcome to Camp Cruz, the temporary home for an army of volunteers from around the country who have traveled to this snowbound state at their own expense. Their mission: to do all they can to push the first-term Republican senator over the finish line when Iowa holds the first presidential nominating contest in the nation on Feb. 1....

If Cruz loses Iowa, he is finished. This is a make or break state for him. He must win.
According to you. Oh, by-the-way, my sources there say his ground game is without parallel.

We will see. He won’t win NH or SC so it is a must win for him. Santorum won in 2012 and Huckabee in 2008.
Knocking on doors, and doing the footwork necessary to earn the vote.
Most Cruz could get is 3
Trumps plan is just to fly in, make a incoherent 1/2 hour of bumper sticker slogans and canned Twitter zingers, then fly out. Everybody is just supposed to drop their pants and hand over the keys to the kingdom without him doing any of the footwork.
It’s about the momentum and the press coverage, not the delegates in particular.
If TRUMP (BLESS HIS NAME) loses Iowa, he is finished. This is a make or break state for him. He must win. If TRUMP (PEACE BE UPON HIM) doesn’t finish a strong FIRST PLACE, the “magic” is broken and his spell-bound acolytes will be freed — as if waking from a drugged sleep.

Not true. Santorum spent a lot more time in Iowa than Cruz has.
Did I say “time spent in Iowa?” No, I said ground game.
After the caucus, it would be great if the ground troops reported back as to what approach works and what approach does not work. We need to replicate what works everywhere.

LOL. Trump had 3 appearances the other day in Iowa. Meanwhile, Cruz was hiding out at VFW’s and diners in NH afraid of getting run over by the Trump Train in Iowa.
LOL!!! Spot on :)
How do you know Trump hasn’t a ground game? The guy in charge of his ground game is the guy who ran it for Santorum.
Guess who won last time?
No, Cruz is owned by the Club for Growth, Goldman sachs, and a billionaire hedge fund sugar daddy. He is an insider pretending to be an outsider. As sitting senator who has spent most of his working life in government. We don’t need another first term senator in the WH.
