Republicans from various corners of the party are signaling their urgent desire to stop Ted Cruz from becoming their presidential nominee, a dueling indication of the Texas senator's formidable political strength as well as his severe likeability deficit within diverse quarters of the GOP.
With less than two weeks to go before the Iowa caucuses, Cruz is under siege, attempting to fend off attacks on multiple fronts, unite conservatives and hold on to his narrow lead in the state over Donald Trump, who has predicted that a win by him there would induce a cascading effect toward the GOP nomination....

Will they still love Donald after they stop Cruz?
These people don’t love Trump.
They tried to knee cap him early on.
They are now sucking up to him because they fear him.
Trump said it didn’t matter to him.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Having Glenn Beck join him in Waterloo..........?
So do you think after Cruz is stopped that they will go back to trying to stop Trump?
There seems to be a story out everyday about the GOPe out to stop either Trump or Cruz. We did see Nikki Haley go after Trump in her reply to the SOTU speech. That was on nationwide TV and about as blatant as you can get.
I don’t. I think in two weeks when Donald wins Iowa, they will start befriending him to try to preserve their influence in the GOP. It sounds like they’ve already started.
Here’s the weird thing.
I was listening to GOPe radio, Hugh Hewitt show, and NRO Rich Lowry was on with him.
They were not critical of Trump, unlike until just recently.
Hewitt was praising Trump as a “learning machine”.
They agreed and spoke of how today Trump was so gentle and kind to a disabled woman. It was in contrast to his supposedly making fun of the NY Times reporter.
They were quite satisfied with Trump’s growth.
It does. See post nine.
Trump is learning. He’s growing, according to GOPe media.
He’s a billionaire. He can afford dozens of Lowrys and Hewitts.
We’re seeing it again. Anything to stop the conservative.
It’s amazing how many Freepers can’t see how they’re being played by Donald Trump. They ought to be embarrassed. But when desire for revenge outweighs common sense, the desire to double down becomes overpowering.
But, Lowry and Hewitt weren’t really for him before.
Even Michael Medved has changed his tone on Trump.
Trump had no earthly reason to take out Cruz as Cruz had said not a thing that could possibly construed as "an attack by Cruz.
Trump even signaled he would "need at some time to go after Cruz, so when Cruz became barely the front runner in Iowa and being fearful of losing Iowa, did what he's done many times before (Ben Carson anyone) besmirched the man's character, simply for the joy of it, because he can!
With this total lack of character on Trump's part, I don't imagine I'll find any reason to vote for Mr. Trump.
Flame away.
The establishment has loads to dump on Trump, using his own words, record and lots and lots of video (Trump's a star, don't you know!)
With the only guy in the race who didn't have a reason to gut Trump, virtually gone, their original strategy is full speed ahead and the establishment don't mind losing just to assure themselves there won't be any semi-conservatives left for the voters select besides THEM!
What goes around, comes around.
“The establishment has loads to dump on Trump”
Will they do it during the primary?
Or will it be after he gets the nom - if he gets it?
They still won't be stuck with Trump in either case and they certainly do NOT want him, no matter how they are smiling at him now!
He did their dirty work for them taking out Cruz!
As they say, "Carma's a bitch!"
Trump is in it to win.
He has said several times he really wanted to win Iowa.
He backed that up by getting Palin’s endorsement today.
I want a President that wants to win and knows how to win.
The GOPe’s have knee capped Trump every step of the way.
They now sense what a lot of people sense.
He will be the nominee.
They are starting to suck up, because they fear him,
not because they like him.
Mr.Trump sure fears Cruz! Enough said!
