WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Second district Congressman Alex Mooney endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) Tuesday in his run for the White House.
Mooney will become Cruz for President's West Virginia Chairman.
"I am proud to endorse Ted Cruz for President. Senator Cruz's father, Rafael, visited West Virginia to discuss how he fled communist Cuba to live in freedom in America just as my mother did," said Mooney in part of a statement. "I have had the pleasure of visiting with Senator Cruz on several occasions to discuss the shared conservative policies for which we are fighting in Congress."
Cruz responded that he was grateful for Mooney's support.
"Alex is part of the new generation of leaders who will fight for our conservative values. I deeply appreciate Alex's support because we need leaders like him to stand up to Washington and fight for real change," the senator said.
I always liked him on The Lucy Show.
Gail Gordon as “Mr. Mooney” was meant to refer to “money”, wasn’t it, as Mr. Mooney was notoriously Jack Benny-tight with the cash?
That sounds right to me.
If Mooney says it, I would RUN the opposite way. You can ask anyone in MD about Mr. Mooney. There is something in it for him or he has no interest.

Maryland? He’s a congressman in West Virginia. Are you confusing him with someone else?
NO he was a MD State Senator and then he became the Chair of the MD republican party and then he moved to WV to get a federal seat. Always looking for the bigger, he will eventually run for President. And look out for anyone that gets in his way.
He told me face to face it’s the biggest wallet/bank account that wins the race, I shouldn’t back so & so because he doesn’t have the biggest bank account, that is all that is important when running for office. I also got a very nasty letter from him when I supported someone other than his underling!
Ops, it’s Gale Gordon: he was honorary mayor of Borrego Springs and commuted 160 miles daily (don’t know if that is round-trip, probably is) to work with Miss Ball. Mr. Gordon had a ranch and seven dogs.
