Well now. You’ve convinced me.
I’ll join you in voting for Yeb.
Redemption is possible, but track records are also important when choosing leaders.
Trump is a liberal like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Then again, the GOP isn’t exactly a conservative party.
Trump isn’t hiding the fact he’s a liberal and most people don’t care.
NTSA
I call them courtesy statements. We all do it.
You have convinced me too.
Count me as another vote for Yeb.
It’s a waste of time. Trump supporters have sold what ever core principles they had to join the cult of personality.
Nothing said about Trump whether true or untrue matters. Every piece of negative information is criticized regardless of source.
Trump could announce on the stump tomorrow that he is pro-choice and pro-universal health care and it wouldn’t phase any of them.
It’s all about the Donald.
He’s no worse than the GOP establishment fan boys who feted Obama after his election.
Let’s face it, he and they wouldn’t know conservatism if it bit them on their behinds.
The GOP is merely ten years behind the Democrats in their liberalism.
They both feed from the same trough.
Later after he realized what he said he back-peddled and said he was only joking, only no-one knew. How funny is that!
Quite trying to figure out why Donald, as not a purist, is winning... it's the anger.
He was speaking as a businessman who has told everyone that that is what successful businessmen do - they schmooze with the politicians both incurring favor with each other.
He’s also said that it is part of the corrupt system of government enticing business with favors (and visa-versa) that he would like to see end. And as he is now on the government side of this equation, Trump has demonstratively renounced such cronyism, showing that it is not business but unconstitutional government to blame for such corruption.
Great find! I haven’t seen this posted since...um, yesterday. Compared to Obama, Hillary would be great, horrible overall, but in comparison great. She probably would have been on par with McCain as far as greatness.
As a businessman I would say I love all politicians and donate to both parties as well.
But to be fair, Trump never voted for Obama’s trade agreement or legal status for illegal aliens. I am more concerned about those things than some off the cuff comment about someone running for office.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s posting!
Why would a NYC businessman say something supportive of a NY Senator - it doesn’t make sense...particularly during the Democratic primary race. Just doesn’t make sense...
Its all about celebrity, stupid.
When Ahnold ran for Governor of California, people didn’t care he was a liberal.
They voted for him because they liked him. Ideology had nothing to do with it.
Ditto for Trump.
My impression of DT supporters here on FR is clearly they are not conservatives, they are the lefy libertarians, or Democrats who’ve come here to create chaos in the primary.
Exactly right. Schwarzenegger ran as this celebrity conservative much as we see with Trump today. His record as California governor revealed his liberal core, as it will with Trump.
Are we positive those words were not spoken in sarcasm?
People know Trump isn’t a conservative.
The reasons he’s popular has nothing to do with his positions past or present.
But he is a star and people like a star.
