Big name donors fuel McAuliffe's bid for Virginia governor
CNN ^ | April 2009 | Peter Hamby

Donald Trump is just one of many big name donors funding Terry McAuliffe's campaign to win the Virginia governor's mansion this fall, according to newly released financial disclosure reports - and he isn't even among the most generous givers.

The New York real estate magnate cut McAuliffe a check for a whopping $25,000 in late March, but that's just a drop in the bucket compared to the largest single donation in McAuliffe's report - a $251,000 gift from billionaire media tycoon Haim Saban in January. That check narrowly bested a $250,000 contribution the following month from Steve Bing, another big fish in the entertainment industry.

Cult of personality. I keep hoping the Trump supporters will come to their sense here at FR, thank Donald for putting illegals and jihadists center stage and move back to the principled conservative Cruz.

Are you saying he didn’t use the money from that campaign to defeat Cuccinelli?

Nope.

Fact remains he’s one of the filthiest bottom feeders in the Dem party, and that’s saying a lot. Why would I vote for someone who even tried to help get him into my governor’s mansion?

No thanks! Cruz is the sort of "principled conservative" who lies to his supporters about never supporting legalization.

Yep, I remember that, and it’s true. Trump has given a lot more money to Rat candidates over the years than Republicans. He’s a Democrat at heart, despite his recent “conversion.”

In fact, Trump gave nearly the same amount to both Dems and Republicans up to 2009, and, thereafter, gave hundreds of thousands exclusively to Republicans.

But Dems will never tell you that, because he's angry at me for proving that Ted Cruz tells lies to his supporters.

the filthy toad who squats in my governor's mansion

That is an insult to toads to compare them to McAwful.

Seriously, I can't wait until that commie piece of excrement is out of the governor's mansion. He is a disgrace to an office once held by Patrick Henry.

I mostly just wanted to see how quickly it would be removed from the side bar. Pretty quick. Fewer than 30 minutes. Some of the trash Rubio was spreading about Cruz was not removed at all. That was from 2013 and was not true.

You mean the stuff about Ted Cruz supporting legalization? No, that wasn't trash, it was true, and it was probably posted by me!

You never did answer my question about those Jewish stereotypes and conspiracy theories...you know, the ones the Jewish guy is playing into.

What are they and how is he doing that?

LOL. Who should I believe? You and Rubio or Jeff Sessions? I think I’ll go with Sessions and leave you to make excuses for Trump funding democrats and using the state as a weapon to steal some old ladies property.

“Are you saying he didn’t use the money from that campaign to defeat Cuccinelli?”

I don’t know anything at all about that election, except that Cuccinelli was damaged by the previous governor’s scandal and a small one of his own, evidently.

Rush insists that it was a race that could have been won except the RNC preferred that a Tea Party candidate NOT win and refused to spend money on Cuccinelli’s campaign. Their betrayal was the thing that defeated Cuccinelli, not Trump’s relatively small contribution. Now the RNC is trying to defeat Trump and you can bet it will spend more than $25,000. The RNC knows what serious money is.

No, it was completely false. Proven over and over to be false. Yet, Trump did donate to Terry McAuliffe didn’t he?

Trump has said a number of times that he have Dems money. He’s also gave money to Repubs. Trump has come to see how the establishment is selling out America.

LOL. Who should I believe? You and Rubio or Jeff Sessions?

How about Ted Cruz?

From my link:

"And I'd like to make a final point to those advocacy groups that are very engaged in this issue and rightly concerned about addressing our immigration system, and in particular about addressing the situation for the 11 million who are currently in the shadows. If this amendment is adopted to the current bill the effect would be that those 11 million under this current bill would still be eligible for RPI status. [Registered Provisional Immigrant] They would still be eligible for legal status and indeed under the terms of the bill they would be eligible for LPR status as well [Lawful Permanent Resident], so that they are out of the shadows, which the proponents of this bill repeatedly point to as their principle objective -- to provide a legal status for those who are here illlegally to be out of the shadows. This amendment would allow that to happen. And a second point to those advocacy groups that are so passionately engaged. In my view if this committee rejects this amendment, and I think everyone here views it as quite likely this committee will choose to reject this amendment, in my view that decision will make it much, much more likely that this entire bill will fail in the House of Representantives. I don’t want immigration reform to fail. I want immigration reform to pass, and so I would urge people of good faith on both sides of the aisle, if the objective is to pass common sense immigration reform that secures the borders, that improves legal immigration, and that allows those who are here illegally to come in out of the shadows, then we should look for areas of bipartisan agreement and compromise to come together and this amendment --I believe if this amendment were to pass the chances of this bill passing into law would increase dramatically, and so I would urge the committee to give it full consideration and to adopt the amendment."

I think I’ll go with Sessions

Sessions wasn't opposing legalization at that point either. None of the GOP was, not even Limbaugh. I document the why and the details here.

and leave you to make excuses for Trump funding democrats

AND Republicans :)

using the state as a weapon to steal some old ladies property.

Trump is a real hater of Grannies! /s
