Save your bets for the card table. I did not say he would win Iowa. I chided the NYT because Trump has invested virtually nothing and is either very close behind, or just ahead in Iowa, depending on the polls, where other candidates have been pouring money into it. For a 250K investment, he has a 10 point lead in most polls in NH and SC and leads nationally by double Cruz (I know there’s no national primary). I would not be surprised if he lost Iowa and still was the nominee and beat Hillary in a landslide.

Trump identified and hired the top Iowa guy A YEAR AGO, six months before he announced.

He's blowing out the entire experienced field, by every metric, though he's never run for political office.

I hope the other campaigns all believe The New York Times' reassuring report that Trump has no ground game, and is no threat.

Because after all, The Times has been soooo right about Trump so far.

Sweater Vest and Huckleberry didn’t have the gas in the tank to follow-through on their Iowa victories. Ted Cruz doesn’t have that problem.

Yes really. Can someone name ONE pundit, newspaper rag, TV talking head, who has been right about Trump at 40% in December, 20 points ahead of the field?

Please name just ONE political pundit who predicted this in July-August-September? Just one measly name? They can’t be ALL stupis, can they?

All excellent points—thank you!

I’m just sick of leftist MSMers, such as the NYT and Politico, being presented as objective sources. They don’t like us and they don’t have our best interests at heart. Every word they publish should be regarded with doubt and suspicion.

Santorum was more likable, IMHO.

‘They can’t be ALL [stupid], can they?’

You wouldn’t think so, but if they’re not, they’re doing a bang-up good imitation.

That is great news. If Trump and Cruz can keep the RINOS like Rubio and Jebbie in the second tier and out of contention for the nomination, all is good in the political world. For a change.

A Hawkeye is hard to corral; he can also be a little duplicitous.

All I know is I faithfully, and apparently blindly, made it to the poll for the last 5 elections to vote straight RNC. I have decided that this time my be my last vote, even when my candidates won they turned on me and sold me out. No more straight party line votes. If Trump and/or Cruz are on the ticket I will vote once more time. I will not vote for any incumbent that did not live up to what I expected last time. The only one in my great Senator Sesssion. I hope to someday see him as President.

...The difference between the polls, Trump State Director Chuck Laudner told CNN, is because the campaign is bringing new voters into the process. Many of their supporters are first-time caucus-goers who aren’t necessarily polled. The challenge, of course, is to make sure those would-be voters show up on February 1.

“They can’t find our voters. It’s always been the case. They can’t find these voters, and you know, that brings up the question, are they really going to vote? Okay, that’s our burden. But if they can give up three hours on a Saturday afternoon, I think we can get them to give up 45 minutes on a Monday night,” Laudner said....

Yikes!

This headline is out of the NYT, but it makes me wonder how much TRUMP even needs a big old block by block ground game.

I mean the other guys need a ground game, because they are campaigning in tall policy weeds and arguing process in the grass burrs.

That’s their best card after all, and it takes an ARMY to explain it, excuse it, argue it to sell it, .

If Iowa doesn’t “get” TRUMP by now, they don’t get anything, any way, any how, any where.

“GOT TRUMP?”
