That focus on national security was on display when Cruz took the stage in Cedar Rapids. He came on the heels of Rand Paul, who, wearing jeans, a tie and no jacket, had paced across the stage like a New Age speaker, haranguing against excessive military spending and sharing his dream of one day auditing the Federal Reserve. Cruz didn't pace. He planted, hand in jacket pocket, boots to stage floor, and spoke to a noticeably enthused crowd about nothing but terrorism, radical Islam and Second Amendment rights. In my neck of the woods Cruz commercials have been hitting security and 2A rights hard. One frequent radio spot is done in a woman's voice speaking first person about why she's voting for Cruz; it's well done.

I am 15 miles west of the swamp. Born 1 mile east of it.
Just reactivated twitter to follow Ted. In someways not tech savvy.
Interesting about Abbot.
Not surprised by the women factor.

I think Iowa is just another nut-case state overly influenced by the whore of Babylon - The Catholic Church.

The women I know (including myself) all think Trump is an ass, not because of his political stances (which IMO needed to be said) but because of the way he presents himself. It’s possible to be blunt and forthright without being rude and self-laudatory. Trump has apparently never learned that distinction.

Iowa isn’t going to make or break anyone. Anyone who thinks that just because someone got a few thousand more votes in IA than the next guy will determine what millions of people in other states do is dreaming. I’m not just saying this about this election either, I’ve thought the IA caucuses are ridiculously overblown for a long time.

Well maybe but that dog won’t hunt in GA. Every woman I know owns a gun and is voting for Trump and every single one of us has at least one college degree if not two.

Of course Cruz is going to win Iowa. From everything I read here, it sounds like it’s full of religious nuts.

I am deeply concerned about what a Democrat state like Iowa thinks.
