Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) may not have had a Rick Perry moment in last night's CNN-moderated Republican presidential debate, but he may nonetheless have landed himself in hot water.
The Associated Press reports that Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, has ordered staffers to examine whether Cruz improperly revealed classified information during the Las Vegas face-off.
The probe centers on Cruz's statements about counterterrorism surveillance under the Cruz-backed USA Freedom Act. Responding to criticism from rival Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, Cruz said that investigators can examine "nearly 100%" of phone numbers in terror investigations under the law, while authorities could only do the same for "20% to 30%" before the law's passage. As the AP noted, Rubio charged during the debate that Cruz had just divulged classified information...

What Cruz said can be found in a Washington Post article from last year. The putz who says he is going to investigate it just confirmed those numbers ARE the same as the classified numbers.
IOW, Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, has NOW revealed classified information!
Someone remind me as to why we need this spineless unprincipled puke in the US Senate. Does he serve ANY useful purpose whatsoever or is he simply another John McCain? North Carolina owes more to America.

You would think a Senator would be interested enough to watch who will be the next Republican Presidential candidate. I wish someone would mount a challenge to him in the Republican primary.
I would note the “R” after his name.
In fairness, no reason for him to watch it live. He can/could watch it anytime after the fact.
What does Marco Rubio going for him? If elected, you can be sure there will be no end by Hillary’s supporter to file lawsuits claiming he is not a natural born citizen. He lacks experience. There are quite a few potential scandals. Looking at him, does he project maturity and leadership? No.

lol, I had a Top Secret clearance in the Air Force. When I got to my first duty station I was really told that, but they went farther to say that 90% of all classified material was to keep it away from Congress.

Or tell Hillary! This whole charade is ludicrous after what Clinton has done with her classified emails. I doubt she will get so much as a stare-down.
I just have to smile about the way Trump and Cruz put the big ole smack down on Bush and Rubio.
