RICHMOND, VA. â Under a feeble sun trying to clear a morning rain, Heidi Cruz hopped out of her rental car â coincidentally a Chevrolet Cruze â and headed for the Virginia elections office.
Her immediate task last Tuesday was to hand-deliver a carton of 10,907 signatures â more than double the number needed to put her husbandâs name on the GOP presidential primary ballot in Virginia, one of a dozen mostly Southern âSuper Tuesdayâ states, including Texas, that will go to the polls March 1.
But as the primary season draws near, Cruzâs underlying mission was more subtle: To round out the sharp edges of her husbandâs image as a hard-nosed, no-compromise, scowling tea party conservative that many mainstream Republicans â notably former boss George W. Bush â find downright unlikable....

Oh, and did you want me to dig up that article about the things Trump was saying about illegals in 2012? How Romney was “too mean” and how Republicans should be more kind and welcoming toward Hispanics? Yeah... didn’t think so.
Cruz is the only candidate that has ALWAYS been against amnesty. Not just for the 2016 election.
He hasn’t failed to kill Obama Care yet.....one battle does not a war make dude. What a tool......
BTW, Obama Care is dying and the Republicans own the Senate now....THANK YOU FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP SEN CRUZ is what you should be saying.
Every election there’s at least a half dozen of these articles about the wive’s being “secret” weapons.
Are they fishing? Who goes fishing dressed like that unless for a contrived photo shoot? (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)
Great guy. Beautiful family. Can’t win. He should get into the White House as Trump’s wing man and take the top spot in four or eight years.
Are they fishing?

Yep, for voters. Heck you got to hook them any way that you can.
Goldman sachs is the worst of the worst when it come to market manipulation and crony capitalist paymasters. Anyone who rose to a high position there sold their soul. Enough sellouts have already occupied the WH.
Oh look, another obnoxious troll. Imagine that.
Thank goodness you didn't mention the NWO's pet Vampire Squid.
To whom are you referring? Me?
I think Cruz, a fellow Baptist P.K., is the best man in the GOP race. In this case, I believe the old saying that “perfect is the enemy of good”.
Do I want the perfect man as our candidate who can’t win against Hillary in the General Election? Or do I want a good candidate who is tough enough to take on Hillary and probably win?
You have no idea who can win. There is no value in your opinion.
So, let me get this right. Your qualifications for President:
1. Real American Patriot - no problem here, of course, this is a minimum qualification met equally well by several of the Republican candidates
2. Very, very smart - no problem, but Trump is nowhere near the top of this list, even among the identified candidates. He’s clever for sure, kind of an idiot savant when it comes to making money.
3. Very, very rich - so is George Soros or Bill Gates. This is no qualification at all.
Look, if Trump is the nominee, I’ll vote for him, but I genuinely hope I won’t have to ‘book’
Yup, typical Trump Trolls coming on here trashing Ted Cruz, but God forbid any of Ted Cruz supporters going on the Trump threads, hypocrites.
Stay off the Ted Cruz threads trashing Ted Cruz.
Isn’t that what the Trump supporters told me a few days ago ?
Stay off the Trump threads.
Same liberal meme that we heard last spring when Ted Cruz entered the race that “ he can’t win “.
I pray to God that Ted Cruz does win and win big time.
‘’There is no value in your opinion.’’
Well, well, well... thank God we have you to decree whose opinions are of value and whose aren’t. Whatever would we do without an omniscient FReeper such as yourself to guide us on our way toward the 2016 election? I feel blessed to know you.
Don’t know, you are first. I will ignore, best you do as well. Too many people trying to tell people what to do or not do.
