RICHMOND, VA. â Under a feeble sun trying to clear a morning rain, Heidi Cruz hopped out of her rental car â coincidentally a Chevrolet Cruze â and headed for the Virginia elections office.
Her immediate task last Tuesday was to hand-deliver a carton of 10,907 signatures â more than double the number needed to put her husbandâs name on the GOP presidential primary ballot in Virginia, one of a dozen mostly Southern âSuper Tuesdayâ states, including Texas, that will go to the polls March 1.
But as the primary season draws near, Cruzâs underlying mission was more subtle: To round out the sharp edges of her husbandâs image as a hard-nosed, no-compromise, scowling tea party conservative that many mainstream Republicans â notably former boss George W. Bush â find downright unlikable....

Wouldn’t it be more productive to offer up reasons for selecting your preferred candidate instead of bashing someone else’s wife?

Handsome woman and they’ve got great looking kids.
Isn’t it nice to have winners for candidates after the slow motion train wrecks named McCain and Romney?

Doesn't take you much to hype Cruz despite the reality he has zero chance of winning and is propped up in the polls only looking at the most ardent supporters.
I presume you saw the earlier post showing his pathetic attire. I still think the one with him and Trump is the most telling. He dresses worse than the old Soviets.

Now that is the winner of the night for a stretch. How did I bash her?

If he were competing in Project Runway I could see your point. He's running for the Republican nomination, not Mr. Blackwell's list.

And just HOW is Cruz a winner? He failed to kill Obamacare, he failed to kill Planned Parenthood, etc. Worse, until recently out of desperation, he supported a 500% INCREASE in H1B, he's weak on illegal aliens, gave Obama easy path on TPP and Iran, etc. He's owned by big donors and hated by everyone he's apparently ever worked with and he can't dress worth S@%t. He has loser and martyr written all over him. Much like Santorum, another piece of cake, before him, got the hardcore conservatives worked up but simply unelectable.
I know I seem to repeat myself every night, but how can one not when all this Cruz is winning, Cruz is surging, Cruz is leading BS is announced over and over when he's trailing miserably.

He’s won more SCOTUS cases than any other member of Congress or any other lawyer in Texas. He’s won a primary and general election in Texas. He’s won the endorsement of conservative leaders Steve King and Mark Levin.

Fine, he’d make a great Supreme Court justice or even chief, that doesn’t make him a good presidential candidate.

Within 6 weeks, Cruz will be topping Trump in the polls, and your line of BS will be increasingly hard to sell.

It sure doesnât disqualify him in any way, either, so your point remains unmade.
By the way, and just to ask, what is it about Donald Trumpâs qualifications that convinces you that he is uniquely fit to serve as President, as opposed to - say - Secretary of Commerce or Trade Negotiator?

Did someone ask what qualifies Trump to serve as president?
Hell man, he is a real American patriot unlike this thing currently in the White House, and Trump is very, very smart!
And did you know Trump is very, very rich?
Cruz will be Trump's VP or Attorney General.

Zero chance of winning? That’s why he keeps climbing in every poll? That’s why he has the endorsement of every influential Iowa figure? That’s why he’s raised more hard money than any other Republican candidate? Uhhhh, yeah, right...
Also, the fact that you base your candidate preference on the length of their jacket sleeves tells me all I need to know about your capacity for critical thinking. Bye-bye!

Making comments about how one looks is so superficial. What would have said if this man came up and had asked you for a nickel?
I can imagine you telling him to, "Get lost jerk!"
