HOUSTON, Texas â Today, the Ted Cruz for President campaign announced that Cruz has received the endorsement of Congressman Steve King, an influential and outspoken conservative, particularly on the issues of immigration and fiscal responsibility. Congressman King has consistently said that it is critical the next President be someone who will fight unapologetically for conservative principles.
âTed Cruz has the positive conservative vision for the country that we need to correct the failures of the Obama Administration,â said King. âWhen I survey the challenges facing our country, and the slate of individuals who have stepped forward to offer to lead, one man stands out as the courageous conservative whom I believe can restore the soul of America. That man is Ted Cruz. He has consistently and tirelessly fought on the issues that matter most to conservatives, such as Obamacare, religious liberty, life, and stopping Obamaâs lawless executive actions. Cruz has a proven record of standing up to both Democrats and Republicans to put the American people first, and I believe he is the only one who can unite conservatives around his campaign and build the organization needed to beat Hillary Clinton. With Ted Cruz, conservatives no longer have to accept a Republican nominee who doesnât truly share our values. I am endorsing Ted Cruz because I know we can trust him to do exactly what he says he will do, and we need that kind of commitment and dedication in the White House. That is why I am asking every one of my fellow Iowa Republicans to join me in caucusing for Ted Cruz.â
âI am beyond honored to receive Steveâs endorsement,â said Cruz. âSteve is a tremendous leader in the House and one of the few truly principled men and women in Washington. He is a courageous conservative who stands up for our values and refuses to back down. His support comes at a fantastic time for our campaign as we are seeing people in Iowa and across the country signing up, volunteering, contributing, and joining our campaign to reignite the promise of America. I canât thank Steve enough and know that his help gives us a significant advantage as we continue to grow and have success in Iowa and across the nation.â
Kingâs backing is a coveted endorsement in the Iowa caucus. The seven-term Congressman has been a consistent leader on issues such as immigration and protecting innocent life, and his endorsement is considered among the most influential in Iowa. Cruz has built a top-notch organization in the Hawkeye State, with at least one chair in each of Iowaâs 99 counties. He is among the leaders in total visits to Iowa and held one of the largest GOP campaign rallies in Iowa to date by organizing his âRally for Religious Libertyâ in Des Moines in August.

Rube is no match for Cruz.
His inane babbling can only send more support to Cruz.
Cruz has never supported Amnesty, that is Rube and Trump’s folly. Trump has even confessed that his business cannot survive without some form of amnesty.
.
BS. Trump had the first and still best immigration position paper on immigration. And a staffer in Jeff Sessions office drafted most of it.
.
The fantasy appears to be your own.

.
Trump’s position on the illegals is that “the good ones” must be readmitted, and given a path to citizenship.
Cruz’ position has constantly been that it cannot be done legally.
So enjoy your BS sandwich.
Nice! At the very least this campaign has raised Ted to the top of the Republican party, whether the Establishment wants to acknowledge him or not.
No must about it. Coming in legally will present them with plenty of problems.
Cruzâ position has constantly been that it cannot be done legally.
Cruz postion is to allow them to stay here and be legalized, albeit without a path to citizenship. This is amnesty.
...[Bob Vander Plaats:]My hope is to endorse and weigh in with everything I have around Thanksgiving. I will assess the candidate’s character, competency, company and cash (or resources to win beyond Iowa). I truly believe if we unite, we will secure the nomination and, ultimately, the presidency with a pro-family standard bearer who is unabashedly a courageous, full spectrum conservative leader...
That’s not my experience, not at all.
I think Trump is going to do quite well in Manhattan and on Wall Street where (obviously) social conservatism is not understood or practiced.
But there’s a lot of 911 survivors who absolutely and harshly reject the PC era in which we find ourselves. They will back whatever Trump wants to do with regards to foreign policy....why? Because they are deeply, deeply committed to 911 never happening again.
That’s my experience at any rate. In this regard, Trump’s tent is a little bit different than Cruz’s. It might even be a little larger....hard to say.
Just remember that Nov, 9 2016 when Hillary is elected

>> “I think Trump is going to do quite well in Manhattan and on Wall Street where (obviously) social conservatism is not understood or practiced.” <<
Perhaps, but they are such a small segment that I would not even spend any time considering them.

And if they have much understanding of where the real Trump has been consistently, they will have nothing to do with him. They’ll want a man with a record of standing against the destruction, and there is only one that fits that bill: Ted Cruz.
Cruz’ record as Solicitor General in Texas sets him apart from the chaff that are his opponents in either party, including the “self” party of Trump.
.
just to clarify, I’m for Cruz, like many here. But I think Trump has some unique and important qualities, and I would enthusiastically suppor him.
But yeah. Cruz is the most capable conservative in my lifetime. Easily.
Thanks for posting this, CC. It’s really good news.
In other headlines, Cruz ate a bagel and some Trumpster raved that he wouldn’t have had breakfast if Trump hadn’t provided it, LOL.
LOL! Birther moron.
