WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sam Clovis, the highly touted Iowa campaign co-chair for Rick Perry, has departed the Texas governor's presidential bid, a blow that comes as the campaign prepares to restructure its program in the early states.
Confronted by anemic fundraising that forced the candidate to stop paying all its workers, Perry's campaign is preparing to off-load some of its field operation to an allied super PAC. The move will test whether an outside group can organize just as well as a traditional campaign.
Over the next two weeks, Perry's field program will revamp as the $17 million super PAC plays the heavy and invests more of its war chest in propping up its cash-poor campaign.
Yet the split between Clovis, a popular talk radio host in the state courted by other campaigns, and Perry shows the limits of how much the super PAC may be able to do to keep Perry's White House hopes afloat....

Rick who?
Perry was a cheer leader in college. He was a poor governor that raised taxes on business. He went after Trump— He is total history in a book. I think he is under indictment and will soon go to trial.
Snowball in Hell comes to mind. Revamp all he wants, ain’t gonna happen.
Rick Perry has about as much chance of becoming president as Michael Sam becoming starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.
My question, too.
Whenever you see a political campaign use a word such as reboot that pretty much means it’s done. Perry will be one of the first to drop out of the race. My guess will be sometime in September or early October.
I doubt they can aim very well.
Take what’s left of the money and go home Rick. It’s over !
He needs to man up and drop out.
Don’t you have to boot in order to reboot?
Who is propping up Perry campaign? And for what purpose.
He went to Texas A&M so he was a “yell leader”. Not that it’s much different but it is difficult to get on the team.
Going to A&M is the only good thing I’ve ever liked about him.
A few donors and the purpose is his ego. Him, Santorum, Pataki, and Gilmore will probably be gone by the September debate.
His vicious attack on Trump made him irrelevant. It was a stupid decision that turned off all would be supporters. He needs to go ahead and drop out. I can’t understand why these guys want to continue on these campaign schedules when they have no chance. Seems to me like they should finally just retire and relax. Ego maniacs I guess.
Give up. Go home. You’re not going to get any votes.
I think Sam has a better chance
