Why is this on Yahoo ‘finance’ ?

It is pure politics.

To successfully navigate in finance and investments, one can not ignore politics and politicians.

Well here is the transcript from last night. Trump says he gives to politicians (even politicians be apparently believes are bad for the country) so he can personally benefit from the donations.

TRUMP: I gave to many people, before this, before two months ago, I was a businessman. I give to everybody. When they call, I give. And do you know what? When I need something from them two years later, three years later, I call them, they are there for me.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: So what did you get?

TRUMP: And that’s a broken system.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: What did you get from Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi?

TRUMP: Well, I’ll tell you what, with Hillary Clinton, I said be at my wedding and she came to my wedding.

You know why?

She didn’t have a choice because I gave. I gave to a foundation that, frankly, that foundation is supposed to do good. I didn’t know her money would be used on private jets going all over the world. It was.

I did not post this article as a negative for Trump, the businessman. When I read the whole article, it actually justifies Trump donations as perfectly normal and routine.

Looks like many posters think this article is bashing Trump donations. If you read the whole article hwever, it actually concludes that Trump’s political donations were normal and routine for any large businessman.

Yup. Ain’t nothin’ but gangsterism.

These people don’t eat if they aren’t in government. They have no idea how to make things other people want - cars, houses, motorcycles, bad movies - so they gotta put the squeeze on the producer class.

The original Constitution did away with all that crap because everyone remembered the rapacity and greed of the British aristocracy who can politely be described as psychopathic muggers.

We had no income tax, ridiculously low property taxes (no Manor Lord to pay!), non-existent excise taxes and mainly import duties...which protected American domestic trade.

Then the Taker class reasserted itself, with the usual protection racket crap (give us money! we’ll hire security guys to watch...er...Protect you!) and then the social welfare nonsense which has one real goal...employ their supporters in the government.

All for the best of reasons, of course. Of course...they only have our Best Interests at heart, right? A noble class of Altruists! Given by Heaven to us!

Lucky us.

So yeah...he told it like it is. The donations are protection money, demanded by the high class mobsters known as Our Rulers.

"Yap, our system has built in trap doors for corruption."

And those who use those trap doors lobby to keep them available. The way to disable the political influence of the left is to de-fund it, and Scott Walker is the only candidate with much of a record for doing that.

The purpose of Trump is to get Hillary elected. A large portion of real conservatives will not vote for him, regardless of what he says. If Hillary is elected, the socialist trash will be taken out even sooner through defaults in all levels of government.

Exactly. He was/is a business man before a candidate.

They left out the $50,000 that he gave to everyone’s favorite mayor, Rahm Emmanuel or the $25,000 he spread around Chicago in the same year.

Of all of the criticism of Trump, this one shouldn’t surprise anyone. Not only is the a businessman, his business is real estate. And as a man who has spoken so highly of the Kelo decision and his love of eminent domain, he has to pay bribes to politicians. If he didn’t, they’d be less likely to violate the property rights of individuals to steal land to give to him.

Wait til Carly’s in the mix. Trump can ask her if HP never lobbied/donated/bribed politicians.

Bingo! Wouldn’t it be fun to watch Hillary squirm when Trump reminds her she came to his wedding because she wanted more money.

I like Scott Walker. But I start yawning listening to his speeches. Can he jazz up his speaking style? And after every sentence he bob his head up and down 5 times. That looks ridiculous.

You must NEVER FORGET 95% of voters are not informed on issues. The politician who connects and resonates wins elections, not the policy wonks.

What needs to be examined is what, if anything did Trump get in return for his donations. I am no fan of crony capitalism, but given the sums involved it does not smell too badly for Trump; especially when compared to other businessmen/billionaires.

Hard to see how it wouldn't be all over the place if anyone had any dirt on him from his contributions. But, alas, some will ignore other harsh realities in order to pick at scabs to try to find if some "possibilities" might come true....
